Players listed in alphabetical order
Madison Loriaux, OH Kettering/Michigan Elite: Loriaux was a strong hustle player. She was really pushing herself in each play and drill and taking in the advice given to her. She was able to quickly apply changes to her approach and succeed.
Kourtney Mack, OH Dansville/Attack: Another standout, Mack is a very athletic outside hitter with a lot of agility. She’s also a gamer, willing to really get a few bumps and bruises to earn a point. She’s got the hustle and athleticism to continue to improve over the next few years.
Remi Madison Remi Madison 5'9" | OH Grand Blanc | 2023 State MI , OH Grand Blanc/Michigan Elite: Madison was definitely one of the spotlight players of the event. Not sure there were many that could compete with her velocity when she dialed up her swing. But, she also is one of the most athletic players on the court in terms of getting to the ball defensively. Things come very natural for her and she definitely can be a difference maker at the college level.
A’Lari Manuel, L/DS Sexton: This was a good opportunity for Manuel to get to compete with some elevated talent and raise her game. She’s relied on a lot at Sexton, while here was able to focus in on her primary position. She had some struggles with consistency, but improved as the day went on and she got more comfortable. Her serve was very explosive. She definitely has a high ceiling for growth as she continues to see more opportunities against better talent.
Sarah Milam Sarah Milam 5'9" | S Rochester Hills | 2023 State MI , S Rochester/Michigan Elite: Milam was another standout performer for the event. She’s got good size and explosiveness for the position, but her communication skills were really a strength. As a setter, she had very good command of the court and was vocal with her hitters. She brought a good energy to the floor.
Faythe Parker, MH Renaissance/Detroit PAL: At 5’9”, Parker was a little undersized compared to her peers, but she made up for it with her effort and quickness. She was in on a lot of touches by being able to adapt quickly to the play. She also showcased some solid defensive skills during drills and had a noticeable serve.
Katie Rachwal, L/DS Salem/Team Detroit: The ultimate point-winner during the opening drills of the event, Rachwal proved to be very agile and composed in pressure situations. That applied to her play in the back court during scrimmages as well. She’s a focused player on the floor and able to make consistently strong passes to her setter.
Taryn Rice Taryn Rice 5'7" | DS/L Northville | 2023 State MI , L/DS Northville/Michigan Elite: One of the standout defenders of the event, Rice has what you would expect in a libero from the Northville program. She’s very quick on her feet, but gets herself into position and stays laser-focused when taking in a serve or making a dig. Her form is top-notch and her energy level is hard to match.
Hannah Roddis, S Berkley/Unified: Roddis showed a variety of sets and challenged herself to make some difficult plays throughout the expo. She’s got a good base to work off of and just needs to add a little more consistency while having a better feel for when to turn up the intensity.
Marlee Rojeski, OH Dakota/Michigan Elite: Rojeski was able to put down some good swings last Saturday. She’s got a lot of good technique, but needs to improve on her timing and develop some of her other shots to put together a solid arsenal at the position.
Alana Romano, L/DS Clarenceville/Legacy: Romano had some rough patches on Saturday, but what I liked is that she overcame her frustration and got back to work. She is definitely an effort player, but also had a lot of determination. She got better as the day went on and made some really nice digs. Being able to move past mistakes will help her continue to get better as an overall player.
