With the release of the updated rankings, we touch on each position to talk about who’s still available. It’s early in the recruiting cycle for this group, so there are plenty of options, most of which can be classified into multiple positions. Here are five pin attackers that should receive offers sooner rather than later.

[player_tooltip player_id="85900" first="Faith" last="Burch"], 5-10 RS, Circle City, Roncalli

This lefty banger has always been just that, a hammer. Sprinkle in a little setting when the setter takes the first ball, and you have a lethal, multi-option player that is a nightmare to defend. She can go over on two, run an offense, or be the right side that can play all the way around. Your move, colleges.

[player_tooltip player_id="85905" first="Chloe" last="Cook"], 5-9 OH, Munciana, Wapahani

A primary-passing six-rotation outside hitter is what Chloe brings to the table. She’s also a First Team All State honoree for 3A, after crushing all of the competition in 2A in the fall of ’20. With all of that Munciana training, you know her passing is solid, too. 1000+ kills, primary passer, and an all state player? Who wouldn’t sign her?

[player_tooltip player_id="85904" first="Elle" last="Patterson"], 6-0 OH, Rev, Tri-West

Another six-rotation kid, Elle is more known for her arm than anything. Her ability to go over around and through any block in her way leads me to believe that she hits a heavy ball. She can hit from either pin, takes up space on the block, and can attack efficiently from the back row as well. Speaking of the back row, she’s got a deadly jump float that gives receiving teams fits.

[player_tooltip player_id="85908" first="Caroline" last="Hilbrich"], 5-9 OH, Union, Floyd Central

Caroline is the kid you wish you were when you played in high school. She’s a primary-passing, shot-making, indoor-and-outdoor game perfecting stud of a player. Not only did she finally lead Floyd Central to a sectional title over Providence this past fall, but she finished in the top twenty in a USA Beach qualifier last May. To have that level of ball control, the ability to put balls away, AND excel in both disciplines is something you just don’t see every day, let alone in Indiana.

[player_tooltip player_id="104934" first="Emma" last="Dodson"], 5-10 OH, Munciana, Westfield

Emma is a long and lean attacker that can bury balls from both pins and plays stronger than her wiry frame insinuates. She’s sneaky fast in transition, and gets up quickly. Looking more like a three-rotation banger at the next level, I’m curious to see if that Munciana training will allow her to receive serve a bit more to round out her already strong attack game.
