FaR Out Volleyball Club is excited about its younger crop of prospects for its 2022 club season.

It’s easy to understand why. Both 16 Black and 15 Black have a lot of versatility around the court.

But, potential is one thing and performing is another.

Here is a look at both squads and what they can bring to the court this season.

16 Black

This team has had a lot of success together in the past and has high hopes for 2022. They will win a 6-2 behind the setting of [player_tooltip player_id="66322" first="Avery" last="Palmateer"] and [player_tooltip player_id="110278" first="Caroline" last="Baker"]. This will allow FaR Out to get a lot of versatile arms on the floor. [player_tooltip player_id="110295" first="Elana" last="Erickson"], [player_tooltip player_id="110332" first="Avery" last="Weslow"] and Izzy Swiercz will be the primary pin hitters, while Kendal Hopewell and [player_tooltip player_id="110296" first="Ellie" last="Fles"] can move there as well when not in the middle. FaR Out believes this group of pins has a great mix of ball control and heavy hitting to be difficult to defend. Jenna Southland and [player_tooltip player_id="110308" first="Mila" last="Kavara"] are also in the mix at the middle. This group of middles has a lot of blocking talent and are showing a lot of improvement with each week. Defensively, [player_tooltip player_id="110318" first="Carley" last="Piercefield"] and [player_tooltip player_id="153669" first="Hayley" last="Carr"] will be the primary options in the back row. Both have a lot of big-match experience that can play with a lot of consistency to help get the ball to the big hitters. If the 6-2 system can work as FaR Out hopes it will, this group should be in for a strong season.

15 Black

This team brings in a lot of new pieces from last year’s 14s group. As the team begins to gel together, we should see a lot of improvement from them. Navea Gauthier leads the group of pin hitters alongside Reese Lowe, Mia Devries and Cambria Gaier. All four are power hitters with good springs in their shoes. As they gain momentum, they begin to be difficult to stop. Lexi Armstrong is an outside option as well that can see time at DS due to her great passing and athleticism. Dylann Kelly can take the right side or the middle for 14 Black. Other middles include [player_tooltip player_id="156301" first="Elyse" last="Heffner"], Molly Versluis and Georgia Pennington. Abby Pickard will handle setting duties, while Armstrong is another option there as well. Pickard will lead this offense and allow it to play a physical style. Defensively, [player_tooltip player_id="156339" first="Layna" last="Waselewsky"] is a 2025 libero option that will be playing alongside 2027 defender Mallory Johnson. Both have a lot of athleticism for the position and high upsides. It’s a big opportunity for Johnson, who still has a lot of years of progress ahead.
