There was some great volleyball last weekend at the Prep Dig Resolution tournament. From start to finish it was amazing to see the level of volleyball, especially because for most teams this was their first tournament of the season. Here is a breakdown of our championship-winning teams from last weekend.
17/18 Division: FC Elite 16 Navy
This FC Elite team is going to be incredible this year. They took down some of the top 17s and 18s teams in the state to win this division. They are gritty and very talented. Setters [player_tooltip player_id="122566" first="Emerson" last="Van Lannen"] and [player_tooltip player_id="122498" first="Kamryn" last="Kaminski"] both have great hands and move the ball around efficiently. They make smart decisions and utilize all of their hitters. The offense on this team is smart and powerful. [player_tooltip player_id="122532" first="Annalise" last="Patchett"] played 6-rotations and was an offensive weapon everywhere on the court. She also plays solid defense and has a lot of control on serve receive. Peyton Carlson is in the class of 2026 and is playing up two age divisions. Watching her play on the outside though, you would never know she is only in 8th grade. On the right-side [player_tooltip player_id='181809' first='Madison' last='York'] was a breakout athlete. She put up a steady block and had some powerful swings as well. This team is also very gritty defensively. [player_tooltip player_id="122497" first="Olivia" last="Baierl"] and [player_tooltip player_id="122508" first="Elle" last="Kennedy"] run the back row for this FC Elite team. Both are very talented out of both middle and left-back and make huge plays on defense and serve receive.
16 Open Division: FC Elite 16 White
This FC Elite team developed and grew during every match they played. Setter [player_tooltip player_id="144816" first="Mariah" last="Potter"] is an energizer on the court who utilizes her pins well. [player_tooltip player_id='181810' first='Grace' last='Fruzen'] also set for FC Elite and has clean hands and a good touch on the ball. Middle blockers [player_tooltip player_id="151739" first="Lauren" last="Fischer"] and [player_tooltip player_id="122526" first="Olivia" last="Neumann"] both stand at 6'2” and have a huge presence at the net. They were both impactful as blockers throughout the tournament. [player_tooltip player_id="151740" first="Laurin" last="Hamann"] was a force to be reckoned with in the back row. She showed strength on serve receive and defense. This team also has a strong set of pins. [player_tooltip player_id='181813' first='Addison' last='Albrecht'] is a reliable pin who can make plays when you need her to. She can play all six rotations and is constantly building in her ability on the court. [player_tooltip player_id="144810" first="Hannah" last="Greisen"] is another athlete who knows how to make plays on the court. She manufactured points for her team and was a key player in their championship win.
16 Club Division: Elite Alliance 16-1
This Elite Alliance team was fun to watch because they were scrappy and they played well as a cohesive unit. Every play had athletes covering each other and helping each other out. Setter Kinlee Grattan was a huge asset to this team. She set in all six rotations and was a leader on every point. Kinlee has great hands and a gritty attitude on the court. Middle hitter Izzy Jahr was a powerful athlete for this team. She had great swings and earned a lot of points on her team's road to the championship. Gracey Kline was the libero for Elite Alliance and she covered the backcourt very well. She got great touches on balls that came over the net and kept the ball alive. https://x.com/PrepDigChris/status/1485370367371882502
15 Open Division: Sting 15 White
Sting played very well throughout the weekend. Six rotation outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id="178269" first="Paige" last="Boettcher"] manufactured a lot of kills for this team and was strong on defense, from the service line, and on serve receive as well. Paige is a great 6-rotation athlete who brought consistency and power to the pin. Setter [player_tooltip player_id="178277" first="Madelyn" last="Marquardt"] was quick and had clean hands. Both Madelyn and Sting's other setter [player_tooltip player_id="178271" first="Kaitlyn" last="Connors"] have a lot of potential to be leaders on this talented team. In the back row, [player_tooltip player_id="178270" first="Ellie" last="Bruns"], who played both libero and DS throughout the weekend, lead the charge. She was fast, scrappy, and picked up a lot of tough balls. This team has had early-season success and will only continue to grow as the season builds.
15 Club Division: Wisconsin Premier 15 Teal
This Wisconsin Premier team has an insane amount of potential. They have size and power in the front row and setters who move the ball around cleanly and efficiently. Pin hitter [player_tooltip player_id='202194' first='Kylee' last='Altendorf'] has a huge vertical and a high swing and snap on the ball. She is a go-to hitter on this team and earns a lot of points. Setter [player_tooltip player_id='202195' first='Madelyn' last='Abel'] has fast hands and a quick release. She is very precise with her sets and is hard to read. Madelyn also has a very aggressive serve and is quick on defense as well. Fellow setter Callaghan Daute has soft hands and a lot of power. She sees the court and executes well on her sets. Pin hitter Elise VanHimbergen has a very aggressive and consistent serve. She carries that confidence into the front row as well and makes great plays. She utilizes shots and power to earn points. https://x.com/PrepDigChris/status/1485394552940867584
