However, after this team’s championship in last weekend’s 15 Thaw division at the Northern Lights Qualifier, you could argue that these players aren’t just the standouts of the future. They’re a big deal in the present.
I’ve written a couple of features on some other division winners from NLQ, so it’s only fitting that I return to my Nebraska roots to talk about 15 Synergy. Nebraska ONE has to be thrilled with the positive energy and competitive spirit that this team brings to the court. It’s translating to some great results, too, so our 2022 spotlight on this team is due!
First of all, there are a few names (or surnames, at least) that you’re bound to recognize from this group if you’re one of our Nebraska regulars. Keri Leimbach Keri Leimbach 5'4" | DS/L Lincoln Lutheran | 2025 State #40 Nation NE , for example, anchors the libero position for 15 Synergy after she did the same for Class C1 state champion Lincoln Lutheran last fall. This outstanding defender has had no shortage of big-match experience early in her playing career.
Mattie Kamery Mattie Kamery 5'10" | S Minden | 2025 State NE is another player on this roster that made a big impact in her first year of high school competition. The Minden outside hitter took over 1100 swings in her freshman campaign and surpassed a .200 season hitting percentage in the process. Kamery will not shy away from shouldering a lot of volume in a match.
Lest we forget about another backcourt gem on this team in Anna Jelinek Anna Jelinek 5'9" | DS/L Norris | 2025 State NE . All Jelinek did in her freshman year was lead perennial powerhouse Norris in digs while locking down the libero role. For 15 Synergy, though, this skilled back row player gets her shot in the frontcourt and hits on the left pin. Jelinek’s versatility is tremendous.
Speaking of Norris, there’s another Boesiger coming through the pipeline. It will still be a while before we discuss Malorie Boesiger in earnest since she’s representing the Class of 2027! Even still, it’s hard not to be amazed by the way she sets the 15 Synergy offense with such maturity.
Kendall Cose, meanwhile, is a 2025 athlete who can put down some great swings on the right pin or in the middle. She has plenty of time to work out which position suits her most, but the good news is that she excels at both.
Kacey Porter is another name to know while we’re discussing the opposite position. She’s a lefty attacker who, interestingly enough, also looks very comfortable on the left pin. It’s certainly a rare combination in volleyball, but it works in Porter’s case.
Another player that can be trusted to produce some left-side offense is Harper Gable. In addition to having some frontcourt experience, Gable is so solid in defending middle-back and has a strong platform in serve receive.
You could use this description about a lot of 15 Synergy’s roster. Zoe Rademacher Zoe Rademacher 5'6" | DS/L Norris | 2025 State NE is stout in the back row and can also bring some serious heat from the service line.
Finally, we have to return to the middle blocker spot to bring up two more big names we haven’t mentioned yet. Natalie Wardlow just got a shoutout in our NLQ feature for her amazing work at the net. She’s a game-changer that we’ll be talking about for a while. On the other side of the rotation, Lexi Hasselbalch knows how to inject the hype in her team with some stuff blocks.
Collectively, this team boasts balance and firepower that will be tough to beat this year.
