Kamery and Minden were widely expected to repeat as Class C1 champions this year. That might have added a little extra pressure to 2024’s campaign, but Kamery was ready for it. Her setter-hitter role yielded 17 kills, 22 assists, and 22 digs in Saturday’s victory over a tough Wahoo challenger. Kamery’s future prospects at Wayne State are exciting no matter which position she plays.

After last year’s Class C1 title, we can officially say that Kamery has done it all. She’s a dynamic setter-attacker who compiles head-spinning numbers in every statistical category. Kamery racked up over five kills per set last fall while also chipping in with over four assists per set in her setter role. This double-double machine has one more season left before becoming an in-state performer with Wayne State. Let’s make it two in a row.

It’s only right to start with a newly minted state champion. Kamery has been a transformative talent for Minden while being elite at multiple positions. We remain in awe of Kamery’s stats. She was one of Nebraska’s kill leaders in 2023 while also taking on a part-time setting role. And, by the way, her ace output was one of Nebraska’s best, too. The Wayne State commit does it all, and that trend could continue at the next level. Before that, though, Kamery and her team have a great chance to go back to back in 2024.

We all know Kamery was near the top of Nebraska’s kill leaderboards this year, but that wasn’t the only stat where this state champion thrived. Kamery put up some serious numbers in the ace column, including six in the three-set quarterfinal contest against Grand Island Central Catholic. She tallied eleven in the entire state tournament as Minden earned the Class C1 crown. The opponent didn’t matter. Kamery was going to bring the same aggression and consistency every time she stepped to the service line.

As the Class C1 tournament progressed, it became increasingly apparent that Kamery wouldn’t be denied this time. She was among C1’s top kill producers this year, even as she took on her standard role as a part-time setter. Minden’s championship effort in 2023 could be replicated next year with Kamery returning alongside a wealth of other veterans.

Kamery is one of Nebraska’s latest 2025 commits, giving her pledge to in-state D2 powerhouse Wayne State. The Minden junior could do a lot of different things at the next level, from running the front row as a hitter to commanding the offense as a setter. We’ve seen Kamery do both with the Whippets, and she keeps putting up some of the best high school numbers in her class. The ceiling keeps getting higher.

The experienced utility player rotates between hitting and attacking roles, allowing Kamery to pile up stats in every conceivable category.
