Austin Kingsley | Prep Dig Scout
Few could have predicted Rademacher’s role with this year’s Norris squad. She spent much of her prep career playing as a defensive specialist or an outside hitter, and Rademacher excelled at both positions. However, injuries would force her into a starting setter role. Rademacher stepped in brilliantly and dished out Norris’ best assist total in Saturday’s title bout. Not many seniors on Nebraska’s prep scene can match Rademacher’s range and versatility.

Rademacher will rise to the occasion no matter which role she’s playing. She has spent some time as a frontcourt attacker for VCNebraska 17 Elite and finds plenty of crafty kills on the left side. This Norris standout also has extensive experience as a defensive specialist and can patrol the middle-back area with great poise. That was a huge difference-maker as 17 Elite clinched its late Open bid through the Salt Lake City Showdown.

Whether you need an outside hitter or a defensive specialist, Rademacher is an ideal fit for both. We’ve seen her excel in both roles, from her middle-back dominance with Nebraska ONE to a frontcourt attacking role in her 2023 debut with Norris. Of course, Rademacher’s presence in the front row means she’s also available to pass a chunk of the court in serve receive and take burdens off her teammates. Regardless of her on-court role, this versatile junior is heading for another big-time calendar year in 2024.

It’s hard to attribute a single position to Rademacher’s skill set. We’ve seen her lock down the backcourt as a primary defensive specialist in both club and high school venues. Since she joined the Norris lineup, Rademacher has also proven her worthiness as a frontcourt terminator. Perhaps this means Rademacher might be better described as a so-rotation threat. Either way, this junior is set to make a postseason splash.

Here’s our shoutout to Rademacher for taking on an atypical role as she joins the Norris lineup this year. We’ve seen what she can do as a defensive specialist, both with Nebraska ONE and in her prior prep stints at Lincoln East. She’s become an attacking threat across the front row for Norris alongside several of her club teammates, yielding a well-balanced offense with tons of quality ball control.

Our post-event summary of Nebraska ONE 16 Synergy’s runner-up finish at NLQ alluded to the fact that Rademacher has experienced some recent role changes. It’s working out well. Rademacher patrolled the right-back area for much of the weekend and even got to put her quick arm on display through some designed ‘D’ patterns. 16 Synergy just keeps adding layers.
