They are quick and athletic, covering the back row and passing in system so that the hitters have a greater chance to score. Everyone loves to see those big swings coming from the front row. Myself, I love watching these tiny little balls of fire run down balls that everyone thinks is unplayable, sliding on the floor and making those amazing plays that gets the crowd on their feet. The following are just a few of these players that made our Top Performers List.
Top Performers
Annie Johnson – Happy Volley 16 Elite
Annie was a fun player to watch, not letting much of anything touch the floor. She had some very exciting plays, helping her team stay in system and get points on the board.
Avery Guame – Niagra Frontier 16 Navy
The other team was surely trying to keep the ball away from her and her great serve receive. She was all over the back court making it difficult for the other team to score.
Julia Murdy Julia Murdy 5'5" | DS/L Canon-McMillan | 2024 PA – Renaissance 16 Black
A great libero for this Renaissance team, with her quick feet and ability to be in perfect position to receive whatever the other side sent over the net. She was definitely a key player for this team and I’m sure will continue to be as the season progresses.
Ava Thomas Ava Thomas 5'10" | OH Northville | 2024 MI – L2 16-1
A very sound defensive player in L2’s back court. She has great form when passing and the setter is able to go to her for a big swing out of the back row to switch it up when needed.
Greta McKee Greta McKee 5'5" | DS/L Northville | 2024 State MI – L2 16-1
L2’s libero and the oil that keeps this backrow running smoothly. She gets her hips to the ball and platform to target making it easy for the setter to run the offense. A plus to have in the back row helping get this team to the championship match.
