Continue ReadingWe have been watching the 2023 class very closely throughout the entire high school season and used the data of wins and losses, stats, district finishes, awards, in person tournaments, matches and of course the amazing footage that has been uploaded to everyone’s recruiting profiles. We have been talking to a lot of coaches across the country and this class is littered with college prospects. The following players showed us all that they deserved to be moved up the rankings.
Taylor Polivka Taylor Polivka 5'11" | S Keller | 2023 State TX [2023] 5-11 Setter (HS: Keller/Club: Excel/Verbal: Uncommitted)
We are proud to announce that Taylor has moved up the rankings in this update. Miss Polivka went from being ranked as the 43rd to the 34th best overall prospect in the 2023 Class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. Previously we wrote this about her, “After following Taylor over the last couple of months and truly analyzing her skills, she will be moving up the rankings in our next update for sure. She is a very skilled setter who has amazing accuracy on all locations and tempos. She has worked with some awesome coaches over her young career and it shows in her play. She is a very technical setter who showcases phenomenal attention to detail in her technique with contact and release. Her coaches should be proud of how hard she works and how much their training has transferred into game-like settings. The way she is able to get around on a ball that is out of position is usually only seen in older setters. I have a strong feeling that this young lady is destined for greatness in the setting position. However, don’t sleep on her attacking skills as she is a solid hitter in the front row as well. Everything about her is fluid and I cannot wait to see what she does in her high school career moving forward. Stay tune to see how far she moves up the rankings in November. I predicted a big jump and it came true. She has done some amazing work this year and deserved the push up the rankings. She had 300 assists this year playing varsity and led her team to a playoff showing. She was also recognized as a AVCA phenom watch list. Please help us congratulate her on the big jump in the rankings. This young lady has been on fire this entire year. She is currently sitting 3rdin the state for the class of 2023 in assists on the year. She has 1,140 assists and will continue to add to that number as her team is primed for a great run in the UIL State playoffs. On the year they are 26-12 overall, but in district they are unblemished at 12-0. She is proving herself on the court and has earned the right to be nominated for this year’s All-State awards. I watched her in person at the 6A State Championship match where she helped lead Keller to it. There she showed some grit and toughness in not backing down to eventual champion Brandeis. She battled all five sets with her teammates and showed us what she was truly made of. After watching that stellar play in person and analyzing the stats amongst the rest of the nominees, we are proud to announce that Taylor has earned 1st Team All-State from our publication.” Since she has won our inaugural All-State award, we have decided that she deserves to move up the rankings. Seeing her videos does not do her justice. In person she will wow you with her ball placement. But what I truly love is the fact that she steps up former team in crucial moments and no stage is too big for her. Please congratulate her on the achievement.
Mamie Krubally Mamie Krubally 6'1" | RS Plano East | 2023 State TX [2023] 6-1 Right Side (HS: Plano East/Club: Texas Advantage Volleyball/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Mamie has moved up the 2023 Prep Dig State Rankings. We now have her listed as the 40th best prospect in the state. Mamie plays for Plano East High School and now plays for the famous Texas Advantage Volleyball out of the North Texas region. We profiled her when we added her to the rankings and here is a little refresher of what we wrote about her, “She is an explosive left-handed right side who is dominating with her club team this season. What stands out the most is her crazy athleticism out of the right side position. Miss Krubally has everyone stopping by her court as they pass by and watch her fire away. Her footwork and arm swing are some of the fastest in her age group and they will only get better with time. We want to welcome her with open arms to our State Ranking List and can’t wait to watch her progress in the future.” We just recently watched her in the Volleyfest tournament last weekend and she was stellar in her overall performance. She was a huge star both defensively and offensively as her new TAV team won the championship going undefeated. She is a star on the rise and has a lot of schools interested in her. I also got to see her up close and in person as she attended our Top 250 Expo in December. She wowed every coach in the gym as her athleticism was out of this world. We fully believe she will continue to rise in our State Rankings as she keeps progressing. Please congratulate her on the achievement.
Hope Briggs Hope Briggs 6'0" | RS Desoto | 2023 State TX [2023] 6-0 Right Side (HS: Desoto/Club: Madfrog /Verbal: Jackson State)
Mrs Briggs has moved from being ranked as the 69th best overall to the 63rd best overall player in the 2023 class according to our State Rankings. She plays for Desoto High School and also for the famed Madfrog Volleyball club. We have profiled her a few times and here is a little from the previous articles, “She is a very long and athletic lefty right side. She is going to be a force to be reckoned with in the coming years. She possesses a great lightning quick left arm that is able to hit with such raw power. She will move up in my rankings quick due to her ability to play both middle and on the right side. It is very difficult for someone to be able to hit multiple tempos but she makes it look very easily. She is able to absolutely unload on a ball down the line on the right, which will score very well in the junior game. She even plays great opposite side defense, which is a huge plus. I think she will be on college coach radars very soon due to her jumping and attacking abilities. She is definitely one to take note of now.” She truly stepped up for her varsity team this season compared to how she was used as a freshman. She was able to tally 86 kills on 187 attempts for a superb .294 hitting percentage as a sophomore middle/right side for Desoto. We know that this year she will be looked at to contribute even more as she has grown with age and experience after this club season. She has every chance to move up the rankings soon with what we see from her play that she has shared with us. We are happy to announce that she recently made her college choice. She will be playing college volleyball for Jackson State in a few years. I am sure they saw what I saw when we watched her in person at Nationals this summer in Vegas. We are proud to have her in the rankings and that we get to cover her for the next two years before she moves on to the next level.” Hope is so electric on the court and has done nothing but get better in her position. If we had to rank just pure athleticism, she would definitely be in the top 20 in the state. We will have fun watching her and her amazing Madfrog team this season. Please help us congratulate her on moving up the state rankings.
