This past weekend the 11-14 age divisions was Saturday and 15-18 was Sunday. Saturday there is a combined 62 teams and Sunday there was 54 teams.
Lets look at 7 players from the various ages that did a great job for their team and stood out to us.
15s– Middle Blocker for PWP 15-1 #8, Natali Aguila, did a fantastic job. She has good height for her age as well as a nice set of springs that allow her to get up and press over the net. She helped her team win the championship even though they played up in the 16s division. This young lady has potential to grow into a really solid player for her high school and future club teams.
Setter for BAVC 15-1 Royals #13, Kiara Bonilla, had a nice showing. She moves around the court well and has a good jump on each pass her teammates make. Pair this with a high contact and strong hands, she has some ingredients to make a teammate we would all love to have on the team. Getting to balls and getting a lot of power from the hands are qualities you don’t see to often at the younger ages.
OH for BAVC 15-1 Royals #8, Camryn Liechti, has great control of the ball in her swings. She has the ability to take a ball line or into the cross court. We saw her have a great cut shot into the shallow zone 4 in the second game of the day for BAVC. She also does a great job in serve receive, making her a threat both in the front row and back row.
16s– DS for TPV 16-1 #10, Reagan Holt, did an outstanding job for TPV. Playing as the libero, she gave them a constant serve receive passer and someone giving great out of system sets when the setter would take the first contact. She has picked up where she left off in school ball. She made her way onto the varsity roster quickly after working hard to better herself. We are excited to see what kind of player she can become in the near future.
MB for TPV 16-1 #33, Chloe Doerr Chloe Doerr 5'11" | MB Coweta | 2024 State OK , is a quick middle. She gets side to side well for blocks and has good timing with her setters. She snaps well on the ball, helping create better downward angle on the ball. Keep an eye out for her as she continues to get better and make a name for herself.
17/18s– Middle Blocker for OC 18-2 Exposure #13, Ella Irvin, has some real power in her swing. I got to witness first hand as she ran a quick out of the middle and cut it into the chest of the left back defender. Even through that ball was dug, the libero was feeling that for a few plays. She is a player, when in system, passers are hoping their blockers are putting up a solid block to try and slow her down. She will have the potential to play at the next level very soon.
OH for SWAT 18-1 #19, Madison Swift, is an all around play maker. She has made plays over and over for Coweta high school. She has verbally committed to D3 DeSales University in Pennsylvania. It is easy to see why why they would want her to join their program. She brings a big swing from all over the court as well as some great energy on the court. She is someone you want playing next to you out there.
DS for PWP 17-1 #15, Chahra Robledo, is a workhorse. She is never afraid to dive into the fans or scorers table for a ball. She sets the tone well for her team with her effort. She is typically in a great position to make a play due to her ability to read hitters. All this combined makes for a strong player and teammate for PWP.
We are excited to see where these players take their teams and how they grow as an individual. We will be at Kaizen Classic in Tulsa this upcoming weekend.
