The four-month tournament is typically the stage for some intriguing battles and is where players go beyond their limits to perform and chase victories.
This year’s edition of the Power League has started in early January and over the course of the month and each division has played at least one stop (or the seeding day). The 18s Division, which combines 17s and 18s teams from the Evergreen State is one of the most advanced with two rounds already completed.
This week, we’re highlighting some of the teams that had the best performances in the division so far and today we’ll present SIVBC 18 Tsunami, the top team from the Sudden Impact Volleyball Club, which lost just one of its first seven matches.
Key Players
Jenna Legault Jenna Legault 5'11" | OH Bothell | 2022 WA – Outside Hitter – HS: Bothell – 2022
Jenna Legault Jenna Legault 5'11" | OH Bothell | 2022 WA could very well be considered the hottest prospect in the state of Washington right now. The six-foot outside hitter has just led her high school team Bothell to a State Championship title with a Player of the Year Performance that included 478 kills, 400 digs, 404 passes and 75 aces. A Fresno State commit, Legault is lethal at the net but also has a very complete game, which allows her to impact the game in several different areas.
Elise Hani – Middle Blocker – HS: Lake Washington – 2022
A towering 6’4” middle blocker with excellent physical tools, Elise Hani has always been noticed at the net but her game continues to improve in a fast rhythm. Her blocking has always been very good because of her size alone but she has further developed her technique and reading of the game. Her offense is also coming together nicely, giving her teams a very interesting option to offload the pin hitters. A University of Washington commit, Hani has spent time in the USA Volleyball’s inaugural National Team Development Program (NTDP) Summer Training Series last July.
Isabella Kwan – Setter – HS: Newport – 2022
A diminutive but crafty playmaker, Isabella Swan does a great job in running SIVBC 18 Tsunami’s offense. The 5’4” setter uses all of her hitters in a system that keeps everyone involved. Her technique is excellent and Kwan’s volleyball IQ is as high as it gets. Also a very good defender, she’s fresh from a high school season in which she tallied 513 assists (8.1 per set), 29 kills and 38 aces for Newport.
