We spent Sunday morning at the Houston Skyline club, which had six courts running non-stop with matches of the 15s division. We watched each of the 24 club teams that competed at the venue and are now coming back to provide our positional reports featuring the players that caught our attention.
In today’s report, we’ll feature some interesting middle blockers we saw in action:
Mackenzie Collins – HJV 15 Elite – HS: Shadow Creek – 2025
Mackenzie Collins is a force at the net. She stands at 6’1″ and is very active and mobile but what make of her a special talent are her physical tools. Also a track and field athlete, Collins is a terrific jumper, who’s able to make contact with the ball at a very high point at the net. She also has a very quick and heavy arm and will bounce balls at ease if opponents don’t pay enough attention to her – although she might still do it even if do. A very technical and intelligent blocker, Collins had massive production in her freshman high school season, registering 277 kills and 101 blocks for Shadow Creek, earning the district’s Newcomer of the Year award.
Bayleigh Minor Bayleigh Minor 6'1" | MB Fort Bend Christian Academy | 2025 State #97 Nation TX – Houston Skyline 18 Royal – HS: Fort Bend Christian – 2025
A TAPPS State Champion with Fort Bend Christian, Bayleigh Minor Bayleigh Minor 6'1" | MB Fort Bend Christian Academy | 2025 State #97 Nation TX is one of the most exciting middle blockers coming up in the state of Texas. A six-footer with quick feet and excellent athleticism, she completely dominates the net on both sides of the game. Her offense is outstanding as her tremendous power makes her very difficult to stop, even when she isn’t able to make a full approach. She hits the slide set to perfection and is also an excellent and active blocker. Minor, who’s ranked 11th in our recently-released 2025 Prep Dig State Rankings, has produced 254 kills and 65 blocks in Fort Bend Christian’s campaign.
Sanaa Donaie – AVA TX 15 Adidas – HS: Baytown Christian Academy – 2025
Sanaa Donaie has shown quick improvement since we first watched her play, about two months ago. She has the potential to be a beast at the net with her 6’2” frame and long arms and nets and is, step-by-step, getting closer to it. She already moves and jumps well and has significantly improved her offense, adding more power to it. That combined with her tremendous reach could make of her a real force at the net. Donaie is also a dangerous server.
Camryn Posey – Woodlands Revolution 15 Gold – 2025
As with any player in her age group, Camryn Posey’s game is still a work in progress, but her blocking ability has earned her a spot on this list. She looks like a natural for the skill and will only get better as she gets more training and playing time. She stands at 5’11” and can put a big block, but what really stand out are her excellent reading of the game and perfect timing every time she goes up at the net.
Rebekah Pfefferkorn – Houston Skyline 15 Royal – HS: Bridgeland – 2025
Another middle blocker with tremendous potential emerging in the Houston area, Beka Pfefferkorn has all the tools to master the position. She stands at 6’2” and has an excellent presence at the net. She handles her size really well as she moves quickly at the net and does a great job in closing up the space next to the player at the pin when blocking. Pfefferkorn’s offensive game is also very effective, especially when she hits the slide set.
Kennedy Jones – HJV 15 Premier – 2025
Kennedy Jones also relies a lot on her athleticism to control the net. She’s not as tall as the other players on this list at 5’10”, but has long arms and jumps really well. Jones does a great job in reading plays and staying alert and gets to score quite a few easy points by reacting to overpasses every match. She hits a very quick set in the middle that’s difficult to anticipate.
