We spent Sunday morning at the Houston Skyline club, which had six courts running non-stop with matches of the 15s division. We watched each of the 24 club teams that competed at the venue and are now coming back to provide our positional reports featuring the players that caught our attention.
This article will highlight the outside hitters who played pivotal roles for their teams:
Ella Lewis Ella Lewis 5'11" | OH The Woodlands | 2025 State TX – Houston Skyline 15 Royal – HS: The Woodlands – 2025
Ella Lewis Ella Lewis 5'11" | OH The Woodlands | 2025 State TX ’ game certainly makes justice to her reputation. Ranked 29th in our new 2025 Prep Dig State Rankings, the 5’10” outside hitter has a very complete game and does a lot of important things for her club and high school teams. Lewis is very good on the backcourt and even better at the net where she combines impressive power with creativity and resources to get away from difficult situations. She’s also a good server and can hit from the backcourt too. Lewis tallied 403 kills, 351 passes, 147 digs and 49 blocks in her freshman high school season with The Woodlands.
Chloe DeMoss – Texas One – 15 Royal – 2025
Chloe DeMoss was a key element in her Texas One – 15 Royal team’s playing system last weekend. The 5’9” outside hitter had a prominent role in the team’s defensive system, especially in serve-receiving, and was its most used and most effective player at the net. DeMoss showed good power to score points, but also well-developed skills to find good angles and hit around the block.
Brooke Barnes – Houston Skyline 15 Black – HS: Foster – 2025
A 5’11” outside hitter with a solid and powerful game at the net, Brooke Barnes’ carried Skyline 15 Black’s offense at times this past weekend. She’s very long and umps really well, making it very difficult for opposing blockers to match her at the net. Barnes, who can also hit from the backcourt, is also very consistent with her passing and defense and can bring the heat from the service line. She produced 84 kills in limited playing time during her freshman high school season with Foster.
Samantha Loyd – AVA TX 15 Attack – HS: Dickinson – 2025
Samantha Loyd is an excellent offensive player. She stands at 5’9” but jumps well and has a lot of variation on her hits. She has the power to hit the ball hard, can do it in any direction but is also intelligent and skilled enough to score in different ways by tooling the block or tipping the ball to an open court spot.
Bailey Warren Bailey Warren 5'10" | OH Fulshear | 2025 State #94 Nation TX – Houston Skyline 15 Royal – HS: Fulshear – 2025
Bailey Warren Bailey Warren 5'10" | OH Fulshear | 2025 State #94 Nation TX is the younger sister of Purdue commit Brielle, one of the most exciting players in the state of Texas. Her games are kind of similar in the sense that both are highly physical, aggressive outside hitters who score a lot of points for their teams. The 5’9” Bailey is very explosive and can be extremely deceiving on her offense as her tremendous body control allows her to hit in the opposite direction her body is facing. She can score in bunches and has delivered 345 kills, 378 passes and 236 digs in her freshman season with Fulshear. Bailey ranks 14th in our recently-released 2025 Prep Dig State Rankings.
Megan Stano – Texas United 15 Red – 2025
Megan Stano’s physical power is her main asset on the court. She stands at 5’9” but has a lot of power on both her upper and lower bodies and that translates really well on her offense. Stano is capable of hitting the ball hard from anywhere on the court, including the backcourt, and can be difficult to stop. She’s also a good server.
