We spent Sunday morning at the Houston Skyline club, which had six courts running non-stop with matches of the 15s division. We watched each of the 24 club teams that competed at the venue and are now coming back to provide our positional reports featuring the players that caught our attention.
On Friday, we’ll focus on the right siders who were in great form during the event:
Taylor Porter Taylor Porter 5'11" | OH Cypress Ranch | 2025 State #85 Nation TX – Houston Skyline 15 Royal – HS: Cypress Ranch – 2025
Taylor Porter Taylor Porter 5'11" | OH Cypress Ranch | 2025 State #85 Nation TX played outside hitter for her high school team Cypress Ranch in the last season, producing 380 kills, 324 digs and 347 passes, but was flexible enough to move to the right so Skyline 15 Royal could accommodate all their stellar pin hitters in the lineup. As expected, she crushed on the new position, which might even enhance her outstanding athleticism and well-diversified offensive game. The 5’11” Porter was excellent in every match and also helped the team with her passing skills.
Kori Sessions – HJV 15 Elite – HS: Spring – 2025
The centerpiece of her high school team Spring, Kori Sessions has a more specific role with HJV 15 Elite, which seems to make the most of her skills. A 6’2” right sider with exceptional physical tools, Sessions is extremely efficient and reliable on offense. She can hit a few different sets on the right and is the kind of player who doesn’t shy away in moments of high pressure. Sessions is also an excellent blocker and her all-around game has gotten significantly better since the end of the high school season.
Jaya Rimm – Texas Tornados 15 Adidas – HS: Cypress Woods – 2025
Jaya Rimm is the player you want to have on the ball when the match is on the line. She’s not extremely tall at 5’9”, but jumps well and has long arms that help her a lot with her contact point. But the most important things about her game are probably her bravery and confidence to go against the big blocks that stand on her way and her ability to find ways to beat them.
Alexys James – Houston Skyline 15 Black – HS: Jordan – 2025
A 5’10” prospect with the ability to do it all on a volleyball court, Alexys James plays a central role in Skyline 15 Black’s playing system. When at the net, she’s one of the team’s most effective scoring options, using her impressive explosiveness and heavy right arm to score. At the back, James turns into an elite setter, who is also capable of significantly contributing on defense and from the service line. She played a similar role for her high school team Jordan in the last season, tallying 186 kills, 95 digs, 83 assists, 32 aces and 24 blocks.
Carmella Jones – TAV Houston 15 Adidas – HS: Bryan – 2024
Also a standout basketball player for her high school team Bryan, Carmella Jones fills an important role for TAV Houston 15 Adidas at the right side of the net. She brings some sizer and power to the team and scores important points with her ability to hit the ball hard and find good angles. Her backcourt game is still improving but is already good enough to allow her to pass in a few rotations.
Ope Aladetimi – HJV 15 Premier – HS: Fort Bend Elkins – 2025
A 5’11” freshman with tremendous athleticism and impressive physical tools, Ope Aladetimi has what it takes to become an elite right sider. Originally a middle blocker, she’s still refining her game on the right, but has already shown some interesting signs of progress. Aladetimi has long arms and big hands that suit her well when hitting or blocking. She can also jump really high and is difficult to contest at the net because of her high contact point.
