Prep Dig Sizzle Is Back – Registration Opens May 2
The Sizzle is back! This year’s event will return to Appleton, WI at the Community First Champion Center with 12 air conditioned courts with a one day JV event and a two day Varsity Event. The event has featured some of Wisconsin’s top teams as well as teams from Iowa and Minnesota. The event is open to teams from all states!
In 2021, the Sizzle featured eight teams who qualified for the Wisconsin state tournament, including state champions Howards Grove and Luxemburg-Casco.

What is the format?
Our goal at the Sizzle is to provide a chance to play against teams that they typically wouldn’t see during their summer leagues and conference play. We will schedule teams based on top matchups as well as making sure we provide teams with similar competition levels.
For Varsity, we have the day one matchups set where teams will know who they are all playing with most likely a round robin pool. Day two will be bracket play where we will take into consideration day one results, but will schedule according to the best level of competition as well as a chance to play new teams across the net.
For example, if we relied heavily on a strict pool to bracket play, we could end up with four teams from the same summer league or conference on day two (this is what we want to avoid).
We also do our best to accommodate travel – Varsity teams will play in one of two waves. In 2021 we did Wave 1 with matches at 11, 12, and 1 (playing back to back to back with breaks as needed between matches) and another wave with matches at 2:30, 3:30, and 4:30.
Registration will open on PrepDig.com on Monday, May 2.
