<p>Sophomore defensive players are expected to contribute for teams throughout the 12th Region during the 2022 high school volleyball season.</p>
<p>A look at five 2025 12th Region defensive players on the rise follows. </p>
<p><strong>Haylee McClure</strong> is a sophomore defensive specialist from Lincoln County High School. McClure digs and pursues consistently. A talented defensive player who can pass, McClure possesses solid ball control skills.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="159316" first="Tanner" last="Rigney"]</strong> is a sophomore defensive specialist from Somerset High School. Athletic, Rigney moves well and can produce regularly from the back row. A reliable back row hitter, Rigney possesses quickness. </p>
<p><strong>Sophie Raines</strong> is a sophomore libero from East Jessamine High School. Raines turns the first touch into a solid pass to the setter regularly. In addition, Raines can set the back from the back row if needed. </p>
<p><strong>Sienna Schantz</strong> is a sophomore defensive specialist from West Jessamine High School. Quick, Schantz covers the court extensively and delivers defensively. Schantz possesses strong defensive skills and passing skills. </p>
<p><strong>Allison Watters</strong> is a freshman defensive specialist/setter from McCreary Central High School. Watters digs and pursues consistently. Poised to take on a larger role for her team in the 2022 high school volleyball season, Watters can produce as a passer while making an impact defensively. </p>
