This is a very prestigious tournament in which teams actually had to earn their bid to play in it. The qualification process is super tough throughout the year and the best of the best rose to the top. Prep Dig was on hand to cover every serve, set, kill, and pass of the ball from start to finish. This series of articles is going to cover those athletes that stood out to me during the 10 days that I was covering the tournament.
This first series is going to be dedicated to the 2025 class. The entire series will be broken up by position. This article will cover some amazing left side attackers that I saw help their team by scoring at will. Let’s meet these amazing leaders.
Lily Dee Davis Lily Dee Davis 6'2" | OH Austin Westlake | 2025 State #98 Nation TX [2025] 6-1 Outside (HS: Westlake/Club: Austin Skyline//Verbal: Uncommitted)
Lily is currently ranked as the 10th best overall prospect in the 2025 class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She plays at the Westlake high school and also for the Austin Skyline volleyball club. I covered her earlier in the club season and stated the following, “Usually with the high volume of attempts comes a lower efficiency rating, but Lily can score almost at will. Most spectators will see her physical attributes and power that she possesses, but I saw a young player who is well beyond her years in attacking. She had a variety of shots and knew exactly when to use each one to score on some great defenses from across the country. This kid has every shot imaginable from hard cross, sharp angle, turning down the line, across her body down the line, and a filthy off-speed roll shot. But the one aspect that I love the most is her attitude toward her teammates and competition. She relishes in these big moments and plays the game the way it was meant to be played…with total enjoyment. She motivates everyone before the match, during big moments, and celebrates her teammates hard when they get a big kill or block.” There are some stars who are difficult to play with, but the way that Lily celebrates her teammates and is always smiling off of the court tells me that she is a dream to coach and play with. I have been lucky enough to watch her in person both at tournaments and at our showcase in Orlando and she was a joy to work with. She can score with the best hitters in the nation from any location on the court. She is almost unstoppable when it comes to a faster tempo on the left side and I’m gonna call her “Doc” because she has every shot imaginable.
Alexis Hinton Alexis Hinton 6'1" | OH Private | 2025 State TX [2025] 6-2 Outside (HS: Westlake/Club: Austin Performance/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Lillie is currently ranked as the 30th best overall prospect in the 2025 class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She plays at the Westlake high school and also for the Austin Performance volleyball club. This young lady can ball on the pins. She is a six rotation outside hitter who carried her team at times when I watched. She is the real deal as a point scorer and will have no problem being listed on our State Rankings list with the production that I saw at nationals. She was a star amongst stars as she did it all for her squad. Her ball control in serve receive, they way she served bullets, and of course, her lethal right arm had me staying by her court for a while. We will be covering her during the school season and cannot wait for her next match.
Kennedi Rogers Kennedi Rogers 5'10" | OH Ridge Point | 2025 State #57 Nation TX [2025] 5-10 Outside (HS: Ridge Point/Club: Absolute Volleyball Academy/ Verbal: Uncommitted)
Kennedi is currently an unranked prospect in the state according to the 2025 Prep Dig State Rankings, but will be joining them soon when I update the list. She plays on the pins for Ridge Point High School and now plays for Absolute Volleyball Academy. I wrote an article on her this past season as she was with Houston Juniors and here is what I stated, “While her team was gong back and forth with some amazing competition in the power pool, Miss Rogers was extremely steady for her squad. She has a very calming presence about her during some tough chaotic times. This youngster packs some serious power in that right arm in both serving and attacking. It is very easy to think that she is just a skilled attacker, but don’t sleep on her defense as I loved watching her footwork in the back row and willingness to dig some hard driven balls. She has great court vision and will be a stud for many years. Add this name to your list of players to recruit.” It is only a matter of time when I update the State Rankings because she will be my first addition for sure. She proved all season long just how lethal she is on the court. Kennedi can score from anywhere front row or back row and also has a stunning serve. “Big Game” Kennedi is someone who I am very high on after working with her at our showcase earlier in Orlando. BG is legit and deserves every accolade that she receives in this sport. Stay tuned for more on her as we follow her journey.
We will be continuing with more players in each position in the next few articles that stood out to me while I covered nationals.
