2023 Rankings Update: Top Setters

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We updated <a href="https://prepdig.com/michigan/rankings/2023-rankings/"><strong>our 2023 player rankings</strong></a> this week and its definitely one of Michigan's top classes in some time.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Along with looking at the&nbsp;<a href="https://bit.ly/3PJaFvK"><strong>stock-risers</strong></a>&nbsp;and the&nbsp;<a href="https://bit.ly/3wr9g6a"><strong>new additions</strong></a>, we started taking a deeper dive into each position's rankings.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We move on to setters today, looking the top 10 in the class, which is headlined by some very promising college prospects.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2>1. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='66328' first='Ava' last='Sarafa'], Marian/Michigan Elite</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Not much needs to be said about Sarafa, she's improved greatly with each year and has the ability to run a very fast and technically sound offense. Kentucky has a good one.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2>2. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='108718' first='Erin' last='Madigan'], Dakota/Legacy</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>At 6'2”, Madigan brings a lot of different skills to the position. She's very agile and athletic for her size, and also can dial up the aggression offensively or on the block.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2>3. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='66313' first='Erin' last='Kline'], Mercy/Legacy</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Kline has been able to shine on the club level, picking up multiple national titles in a very strong 2023 class. The Mississippi State commit has the wingspan and court IQ to succeed at the next level.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2>4. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='66343' first='Corrie' last='Wisser'], Hopkins/FaR Out</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Wisser, a Ferris State commit, is a great leader on the floor that brings a lot of heart and hustle to the position. She's good at staying ahead of her competition and keeping momentum going for her offense.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2>5. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='66300' first='Paige' last='Elliott'], Country Day/L2</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A standout defender and setter, Elliott is a very fundamentally sound player that knows where she needs to be and where to get the ball.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2>6. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='66341' first='Hayley' last='Wegener'], Coopersville/Inside Out</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Another future Ferris State Bulldog, Wegener has been building on her game in recent years and drawing more eyeballs to her play. Wegener keeps a good offensive pace and mixes her sets well.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2>7. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='66304' first='Megan' last='Grose'], SCA/L2</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Grose is someone that can seemingly play anywhere. She can hit, defend and set. A great all-around athlete, Grose is a hard-nosed player that is willing to do whatever her team needs to win.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2>8. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='173601' first='Jenna' last='Sayles'], Davison/Five:1</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Sayles is a lightning bolt around the court. She's very active defensively and is able to make a lot of big plays with her defense, as well as her setting. Sayles also has a very difficult serve to deal with.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2>9. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='108719' first='Eve' last='Martin'], Lakeland/Legacy</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Martin is another combo player that is a strong hitter at the net as well. Martin plays very composed despite playing with a lot of explosiveness. She is a real gamer.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2>10. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='66331' first='Margo' last='Sudzina'], NDP/Michigan Elite</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A well-coached talent, Sudzina keeps her cool in high-pressure situations, but also is a big contributor to a defense. She's able to scramble well, but always finds her spot.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
