Solid Early-Season Performances

She returns as one of Watkins' top offensive threats from a year ago during which she terminated 190 kills on the season. She has good footwork and can swing a heavy ball or make adjustments to keep defenses off balance. The Warriors are off to a 2-0 start.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Stella Huelsman</strong> - Marion Local<br>The 5'9 middle is off to a great start as she has a 2.7 kills per set average while hitting at a .533 efficiency clip. She is also making big contributions on the defensive side averaging 3.5 blocks per match. She is one of Marion Local's biggest threats and they'll need to find some steady support around her to be competitive in a very tough MAC league. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='169519' first='Jenna' last='Leugers']</strong> - Coldwater<br>The senior outside hitter is averaging 4.4 kills per set this young season and is attacking at a .231 effeciency. One of Coldwater's best returning point scorers she is explosive at the end of her approach work and creates good torque in the air that can develop good power behind the ball. Leugers is also averaging 8.3 digs per match so far in 2022.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Lexi Mack</strong> - Firelands<br>With 24 kills in their season-opening match, Mack hit a whopping .647 on 34 total swings with just two errors. She has over 600 kills in her career and is averaging 2.3 over that four-season span thus far. She is on track to have her best season yet. With good arm control she shows a lot of range in where she can deliver the ball at the top of her attack work, which makes her difficult to slow down.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='169479' first='Kaleigh' last='Palmer']</strong> - Wapakoneta<br>Over nine sets played so far, Palmer has 56 total kills and is averaging 6.2 per set picking up right where she left off last season regarding her big offensive production. The Alabama commit is a huge point scoring threat with her size at 6'2 and length that allows her to contact high and challenge defenses well above the net.
