The following is a rundown of some of the top performers during the evening:

Hartman is a problem for opponents, a big one. The Northern Iowa recruit swings with authority from all over the court. If you relax with her in the middle of the back row, you’ll pay for it. Prep Dig’s No. 2-ranked senior stands out from any spot on the floor. She’s a wall in the back row and at the net. Her kills often go untouched because of her vision and hang-time.
Robin to Hartman’s Batman, Kimm also boasts a strong, all-around game. The St. Cloud State recruit especially stands out for her right arm, but she can dig it from the back row, pass with precision, rise up for blocks and serve with pace as well. Kimm has long arms that help her play bigger than her height.
Highlights
One of the state’s top sophomores, Hildebrand serves it up for veterans Hartman and Kimm with great accuracy and consistency. She glides around the court, usually finding the best spot to deliver the ball while allowing teammates to lock into position. She’s long enough to help at the net and can dig out balls with pace. She has a high ceiling.
The senior is overshadowed by talented teammates, but her consistency and power on the right side solidifies one of the state’s best lineups. She swings with authority and strategy, making her tough to block. On defense, she protects the net with good leaping ability and timing.
Sidney Slay
Sidney Slay
Slay is improving in her first season as the City setter. She understands where her hitters like the ball and sets it up in good position more often than not. She’s a solid defender and server who still is developing as a player.
Ruby McDonough
Ruby McDonough
McDonough is long with an impressive vertical. The lefty can bring down the hammer when she gathers herself and times the set. She protects the net well defensively and does a nice job tracking the ball, allowing her to get into position.
