Each week there are a number of players are fighting for every point. Although there is still time before the tournament each game counts. Here are this week’s outstanding performers:
Madeleine Miller Madeleine Miller 5'11" | S Mount Vernon | 2023 State #193 Nation IA – Mount Vernon
Madeleine Miller Madeleine Miller 5'11" | S Mount Vernon | 2023 State #193 Nation IA runs her offense so well, making her opponents stay on their toes at all times. Her hands are like butter. In the match against the Solon Spartans, she lead the team with 34 assists setting up Chloe Meester Chloe Meester OH Mount Vernon | 2025 State #37 Nation IA another key player for the Mustangs.She also received 10 kills and 11 digs, a triple threat. She helped her team with a win in a 3 set match again Solon. She spreads the ball very well so you never know who she is going to which makes her a lethal player. She is such a positive player and a great leader on and off the court. I can only expect more success in the season for Madeleine and the Mustangs this season. This week the Mount Vernon Mustangs will go head to head against West Delaware.
Aly Stahle – Solon
Do not underestimate Aly Stahle based on her size as an outside hitter, she will surprise you, make no doubt. She is a well rounded Sophomore player for the Solon Spartans. Not only does she have a high IQ in the front row but she has some serious hops. She is quick on her feet in the back row and reads her hitters very well.
Sophie Buysee Sophie Buysee 5'7" | DS/L West Liberty | 2025 State IA – West Liberty
Sophie Buysee Sophie Buysee 5'7" | DS/L West Liberty | 2025 State IA is an upcoming sophomore for the West Liberty Comets and will continue to stand out this season. During the match against the Mid-Prairie Hawks she lead the Comets with 22 kills with the help of Libero Monica Morales Monica Morales 5'4" | DS/L West Liberty | 2023 State IA and sister setter Brooklyn Buysee. She is a strong hitter with a high IQ on the court and super quick feet in the back row. She leads the Comets in kills with 141 already this season. She may not be the tallest front row player but she proves to be a threat all 6 rotations.
Landry Pacha – Mid-Prairie
Senior Landry Pacha has got to be one of the most diverse player I have yet to see this season. She is an all around player who plays many positions. Not only is she an outside hitter but she is also a setter alongside with Jovi Evans Jovi Evans 5'6" | DS/L Mid Prairie | 2026 State IA the other setter for the Hawks. During the match against the West Liberty Comets she lead the team with 12 kills and 19 assists. She is a great leader in the front row and as a setter. It was great to watch her be so fired up against the Comets.
Halle Vice Halle Vice 6'0" | OH Pleasant Valley | 2023 State IA – Pleasant Valley
Senior Halle Vice Halle Vice 6'0" | OH Pleasant Valley | 2023 State IA is ranked in the top 10 in kills in the entire 5A class. She is a six rotation player who is smart with her hitting placement. She leads the Spartans with 116 kills with the help of setter Siena Roethler after this weekend at the Lin-Mar Invitational. She engages with her teammates really well and always had a smile on her face when I saw her. With her height and vertical, her blocks is like a wall.
