We wanted to get the early matches out the way before we broke down these districts since they are still sixteen of them in class 3. This year the powers that be moved Class 4 and 5 to only eight districts. Here are the results and predictions going forward for these two.

District 15

Odessa vs. Oak Grove

Key Players: Odessa; [player_tooltip player_id='214757' first='Peyton' last='Gross'], Lilly Malizzi. Oak Grove; Samantha Stark, Kaylee Chisholm

Odessa as the top seed had to sit and wait to see who their opponent would be and Oak Grove earned the honor after a sweep of Richmond. Oak Grove has a win under their belt this postseason, while Odessa enters having lost their last three matches. Even then, we expect Odessa to have little trouble advancing to the championship match.

Knob Noster vs. Excelsior Springs

Key Players: KN; Lyndi Brown, Sofia Mendez. ES; No Information Available

Knob Noster also had to wait to find out who they get next week and Excelsior Springs it is after a 3-1 win over Marshall. Noster has only eleven wins on the year and will search for number twelve behind Lyndi Brown. We don't have any stats to go on but we like the strength of the schedule of Excelsior, enough to pick them in this match in a slight upset.

We will ride with top seed Odessa for all the marbles to advance to sectionals.

District 16

Benton vs. Chillicothe

Key Players: Benton; No Information Available. Chillicothe; [player_tooltip player_id='232217' first='Ava' last='Leamer'], [player_tooltip player_id='232216' first='Lyla' last='Beetsma'], Jessica Reeter

Chillicothe took down 4th seed Savannah in four to earn the chance at top seed Benton. Benton eclipsed the twenty-win total this fall and will look for number twenty-two this weekend. In their only previous matchup this year, Benton won in four. Leamer and Beetsma are an excellent one-two scoring threat for Chillicothe. We will pick Benton.

Cameron vs. Maryville

Key Players: Cameron; Clair Wenck, Eme Teel. Maryville; [player_tooltip player_id='237844' first='Rylee' last='Vierthaler'], Kennedy Kurz

Maryville fresh off the sweep will get second-seed Cameron in the other semi-final. The Dragons and Spoofhounds face back in September with Cameron getting the sweep. In that match, Claire Wenck and Eme Teel combined for 21 kills. Maryville's chances will ride on the arm of [player_tooltip player_id='237844' first='Rylee' last='Vierthaler'] and her five kills per set. We think Cameron is more balanced and will get the win.

The title will be the rubber match, with both teams earning a win in previous contests. We will roll with the winner from the non-tournament match, Cameron who almost had a sweep in that contest if not for a 28-26 steal of a set by Benton.
