Either way, this tournament will be insanely competitive every single point. It is an exciting week as all eyes turn to Green Bay for the 20 teams who qualified.
Here are committed athletes who will be competing at the state tournament this week.
Cordelia has been an impactful player on this highly talented Oconomowoc team her entire high school career. She recently broke the all time kills record for the program, no small feat at such a competitive school. Cordelia is committed to Florida Tech. She was a key player for Oconomowoc on their state championship run last season and is looking to do it again. Cordelia is also a captain for this top-ranked Ocon squad.
Highlights
This Maryland commit is top-ranked in her class and also ranked nationally. She is a fiery and competitive athlete with near infinite amounts of energy. Not only is she a talented setter, but a natural leader as well. Her connection with her hitters is unmatched. Lilly brings a lot of experience to the court. She trains with the National Team Development Program, ran a 5-1 on Sting 16 Gold last season, and led her team to a state championship last year.
Anna is another incredibly high-level athlete on this team. It is no wonder they are ranked #1 in the state right now. Anna is a Notre Dame commit who is lethal out of the middle. She has an amazing connection with setter Lilly Wagner Lilly Wagner 6’0″ | S Oconomowoc | 2024 State #42 Nation WI and together they are nearly unstoppable. Anna’s speed, athleticism, and power set her apart from other athletes in the field.
Highlights
Ella is another Big 10 commit headed to the state tournament. She is explosive and powerful on the pin. Ella brings a lot of consistency to the court. She makes big plays and can execute in and out of system. Ella is also solid as a defender and can be utilized to hit out of the back row. She is dangerous to opponents in all six rotations and in every skill.
Highlights
Karissa is another impactful player in the class of 2023. She has a high reach, puts up a massive block, and is consistent on serve receive. This Drake commit is efficient on the pin and puts up big numbers consistently for Appleton North. She is a top athlete in this class and proves that every time she steps on the court.
Molly is an athlete who can do it all. She is aggressive in the back row and has great court awareness. She is a natural leader on the court and is great under pressure. Molly brings a lot of experience to the court both from her club and high school experience. Molly has had over 500 digs and 600 service receptions throughout her high school career.
Abby is the kind of athlete that only continues to improve. Every time I see her play I am impressed with her efficiency, power, and view of the court. As a middle, she has a very hard job to do and she does it incredibly well. She has nearly 200 kills this season alone and has the highest hitting percentage on the team.
Grace is committed as a basketball player, but she probably could have had her pick of schools as a volleyball player as well. She is a competitor in everything she does. Grace brings focus to the court and is a leader for her entire team. She is a stat leader on her team as well in kills, hitting percentage, kills/set, digs/set, and service receptions. Needless to say, she touches the ball A LOT and rarely makes errors.
Kyleigh has been a high-level athlete on this Kettle Moraine team since her freshman year. She has over 1300 digs and 1700 service receptions. Kyleigh will go for any ball on the court and is aggressive and gritty in the back row. She consistently sets her offense up for success by providing great passes out of the backcourt.
This UWM commit puts up big numbers and is a huge asset to this team. She has played on varsity since her freshman year and has racked up 1,250 kills in her four years, 280 this season alone. She is impactful in all her skills and gets a lot of touches on the ball. Jordan is explosive and very efficient on the court, a dangerous combination for a 6-foot pin hitter.
Evinae is committed to St. Johns. Her court awareness and read of opposing defenses is very high-level, something that will help her excel on the collegiate stage. Evinae has a soft touch on the ball and moves the ball around the court with speed and tempo. She is very hard to read and will be fun to watch at the state tournament.
Sierra has a huge presence on the court. She has a high reach and strong press on her block. Her season-hitting percentage is 0.381, which is incredibly impressive. She is involved on every play and is aggressive with her swings and shots. Her high volleyball IQ is key to her highl-level game.
Highlights
Kati is another UW-Milwaukee commit that will be taking on the WIAA state tournament. She is scrappy, fast, and gritty. Kati plays at a very high level and will defend her court with everything she has. She plays with a lot of energy and runs down even the toughest balls. Not only is she great at defense and serve receive, but she is also very consistent as the setter out in out-of-system plays.
Hannah is committed to Alaska Anchorage. She has a great touch on the ball and leads her teams in assists, aces, and kills. She is second on her team for blocks and digs. Talk about an impactful player! Every aspect of her game is impressive, and she has been a key part of Wisconsin Lutheran’s success.
Saige is an insanely talented libero. She plays outside hitter for Howards Grove and has been lethal with her power and shots. Howards Grove has won the Division 3 State Championship every year Saige has been a part of the team. She has received First Team All-State honors every year since her freshman year as well. She will be an impact player to watch on this Howards Grove team.
This Michigan Tech commit typically plays on the pin but tends to play in the middle during the high school season. She excels as a blocker and has a 0.293 hitting percentage. She is a solid player who is consistent and effective on the net.
Kelsey is ranked third in the entire state for kills across all divisions. She has earned 562 kills for her team this year. She is an explosive lefty hitter who can score across the net. Her impact is felt on nearly every point they play and definitely in every match.
Ellie is a high-level athlete in all of her skills. She has a solid platform and a huge vertical. She has over 300 kills this season and over 1,200 kills in her high school career. She also helped lead Monticello to their first-ever state tournament appearance last year.
