We are, as usual, centering our coverage around promoting the most intriguing prospects around the state with articles that will highlight their standout performances and statistical milestones and also team features.
As much as possible, we’ll also try to every Tuesday and Friday preview an interesting match that’s set to happen around the state, pointing out the most impressive prospects that will be on the court in that encounter. A very interesting match to watch in the Fort Worth area on Tuesday, October 11, is the one between the Keller Indians (23-11) and the V.R. Eaton Eagles (20-16), which will start at 5.00 PM.
The two teams share the top spot of Conference 6A – District 4 with a 7-2 win record and could further improve their chances of making it to the postseason. It was a close call both times the teams met this season, with Keller winning 2-1 in a tournament and V.R. Eaton prevailing 3-2 in the first round of district play.
Keller
Reagan Sharp
Reagan Sharp
A right side hitter with her club teams, Sharp has been playing on the left with Keller and has been a true force for the Indians. Very long and strong, she’s been tremendously productive with her offense this season, leading the team at the net. Sharp is Keller’s top scorer with 334 kills and has also produced 101 digs, helping the team on the backcourt.
One of the top setters in the entire state, Polivka has been having a brilliant senior season with Keller. An excellent ballhandler and a very intelligent prospect, she has good size and the skills to contribute in other areas of the game. Polivka has tallied 786 assists so far, averaging nearly nine per set, and has also produced 68 kills, 40 aces, 47 blocks and 191 digs.
The talented senior has been playing a key role for Keller as the team’s defensive specialist. Despite playing in just three rotations, she has been tremendously productive and leads the team in passes (524) and aces (41) and ranks second in passes (301), making the impact of a second libero.
Eaton
The long and athletic outside hitter has been one of the centerpieces of Eaton’s playing system. An extremely well-rounded player, Simmons has been contributing to the team’s successful campaign in a lot of different ways. She leads the Eagles in kills (390), aces (36) and passes (554) and ranks second in digs (174) and fourth in blocks (24).
Outside hitter is definitely a position of strength for Eaton with Sandefer pairing with Simmons to make the Eagles strong at the pin. The junior is also very well-versed and extremely potent with her offense and has been able to share the scoring load with Simmons. Sandefer ranks second ins kills (265) and passing (530) and has also been pretty active on defense (112), appearing in fourth place.

Eaton’s starting setter, the 5’5″ Gomez has been doing a very good job with her playmaking and ball distribution. Very complete and intelligent, she also helps the team in other areas. Gomez leads the Eagles in assists (404), digs (228) and aces (36).
