The #1 seed Jets defeated the #5 seed River View Black Bears 3-2 as Kildow terminated 48 kills in the win. Swinging through 93 total attempts in the win, Kildow had 11 errors as she scored on 52% of her swings and hit for a .391 efficiency. The 6'1 outside hitter has over 1,700 kills in her career with a high of 572 in this her senior year alone. This is the second time in their most recent four matches that she has gone 40+ in a match as she also had 41 kills in a non-conference win over Shenandoah. With 37 kills in their previous victory in the district semifinals, she had 37 kills for an average of 9.4 kills per set over the Jets' most recent two contests. An Ohio University commit, she and her teammates next take on #3 seed Sheridan in the regional semifinal round. </p>

<p><strong><em>Dublin Jerome Defeats Oletangy Orange</em></strong><br>The #8 seeded Celtics pulled off a big win over the #3 seed Pioneers to claim the Region 3 Whitehall 1 district title. It was the second consecutive match that Dublin Jerome was able to overcome a higher seed as they previously beat a solid Big Walnut squad 3-2. Against Big Walnut, senior <strong>Surahbi Srinivasan</strong> led the offense with 21 kills while hitting .341. She has a big arm that can generate a lot of speed from either pin. Junior <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='139294' first='Izzy' last='Coplan']</strong> led the defense with 21 digs as freshman setter <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='227808' first='Audrey' last='Taylor']</strong> had 31 assist to help propel their team to the district final battle with Oletangy Orange. Against the Pioneers, the Celtics went up 2-0 only to see their opponent come roaring back to tie it all up and send it to a fifth set. Dublin Jerome regained composure and control and closed out the match 15-9 to advance to regional play. Srinivasan was big in all aspects of the game as junior middle<strong> [player_tooltip player_id='196346' first='Taylor' last='Bahnub']</strong> and freshman <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='227807' first='Mackenzie' last='Palumbo'] </strong>contributed well at the net on both sides of the ball. The Celtics next face #2 seed Bishop Watterson in regional semifinal action.</p>

<p><strong><em>GGCL Advances All Five Schools</em></strong> to <strong><em>Regionals; Region 4 Showdowns Set<br></em></strong>With four Division I and one Division II teams competing in district championship matches, the GGCL swept their way to five district titles among their competing schools. DII Mercy McAuley was led by the 11 kills from 6'1 senior middle <strong>Jocelyn Obszarski</strong>. Used sparingly as an offensive option throughout the season, Obszarski did all of her work in just two sets as the Wolves cruised to the 3-0 win over Graham Local. Obszarski was near perfect as she was 11 of 12 in attacking with no errors for a .917 efficiency. Sophomore <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='152058' first='Caroline' last='Moore']</strong> also reached double figure kills with 10. In DI matches, all four GGCL teams represented each district in Region 4 play as collectively they lost just one set in their district finals matches. Top-ranked Ursuline beat Bellbrook behind the 32 assists from senior setter <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='141725' first='Lindsey' last='Green']</strong>. The Cougars from Mount Notre Dame swept Centerville to set up one regional semifinal between these two teams. St. Ursula defeated Springboro while Seton defeated Kings 3-1, eliminating GWOC and ECC teams from the postseason and setting up the second regional semifinal. In Seton's win, pin hitter <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='114583' first='Alli' last='Kirch']</strong> was terrific with 24 kills to lead three hitters in double-digit kills. Teammates <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='227367' first='Kaitlyn' last='Miller']</strong> and <strong>Madison Lambers</strong> contributed 17 and 10 kills respectively. With all for teams set to face off against a league rival in the Region semifinal round, the GGCL is guaranteed one team into the state semifinals. Who will it be?</p>
