Sensational Senior Scorers – Vol 1

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The high school season is finishing up conference play and there are some players that are scoring at will all over the court.&nbsp; These young ladies cannot be stopped.&nbsp; They are scoring in bunches for their varsity squads and no one has been able to slow them down.&nbsp; This series of articles will be highlighting players in every grade level who are filling up the stat books.&nbsp; We are going to start with the sensational senior class and give props to the attackers who are leading the entire state in kills.&nbsp; Please help us recognize the following players.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='160302' first='Anika' last='Huelskamp']&nbsp;[2023] 5-11 Outside (HS: Oxnard/Club: LAVA/ Verbal: Uncommitted)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Anika is the 65^thranked prospect in the 2023 Class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings.  She plays for Oxnard High School and also for Los Angeles Volleyball Academy.  This young lady is no stranger to scoring as she set the single season school record last year and has continued her offensive barrage during her senior season.  Currently her kill total is at 466 on a .305 hitting percentage, which is good enough to be the best in the entire state amongst all seniors.  She also now owns the career kill record at her school also and the season is not done yet.  Anika is electric all over the court as she excels in the back row as well.  But her bread and butter is that lightning quick right arm and she uses it very well.  The fact that she is one of the best two way players in the state should excite any college coach about her.  We are proud of her accomplishments and will be watching how she closes out her wonderful career very closely. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='161479' first='Eva' last='Travis'].&nbsp;[2023] 6-0 Outside (HS: Laguna Beach/Club: Mizuno Long Beach/Verbal: Uncommitted)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Eva is currently ranked as the 50^th best overall prospect in the 2023 class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings.&nbsp; She stars on the outside for Laguna Beach high school this year and will play for the awesome Mizuno Long Beach Volleyball program this year.&nbsp; Currently she has the second most kills amongst all seniors in the entire state.&nbsp; Her tally sits at 442 kills on a .223 hitting percentage.&nbsp; An amazing vertical mixed with some serious hang-time make it very difficult for any would be blocker to stop her.&nbsp; Then you add the fact that she has some of the best court vision that I have seen in a while and you have a dangerous combination.&nbsp; All of this together makes one of the best ball killers there is.&nbsp; I personally love how in mid-air she will see the block or a hole in the defense and change her shot to maximize her ability to score.&nbsp; She is one of the best to do this.&nbsp; If you have not seen her yet, check her out and you will not be disappointed.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Bethany Moreno&nbsp;[2023] 5-7 Outside (HS: Dinuba/Club: San Antonio Magic/Verbal: Southern Mississippi)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Miss McAda is currently ranked as the 110^th&nbsp;best overall player in the 2023 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings.&nbsp; She plays at Dinuba high school and has done an amazing job of scoring the ball for them this year.&nbsp; She currently has the third most kills amongst all seniors in the state of California.&nbsp; Her kill total sits at 440 with a whopping .397 hitting percentage.&nbsp; Normally only middles have a hitting percentage that high because of the fact that most of their tempos are faster and don't face as many double blocks as pin attackers do.&nbsp; Hitting on the left side of the court, usually she will go against the best blockers on the team on a consistent basis.&nbsp; This is what makes that percentage so magnificent.&nbsp; Did I mention that she is listed as only five foot seven inches tall?&nbsp; Now read her stats again and it will be even more impressive.&nbsp; Don't sleep on the size because she will make you pay big time.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Stay tuned for more articles on your favorite athletes.  If you have anyone you think we should watch out for, please shoot me an email with some info at <a href="mailto:nov8vb@yahoo.com">nov8vb@yahoo.com</a>.  Also don't forget to help these kids get more exposure by sharing our stories with your friends.  Help us help them by simply retweeting on Twitter or sharing on Facebook.  Thanks for following Cali Family!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
