California 2027 State Ranking New Additions Vol 1

The State Rankings release is here!!! We have listed the top 126 players in this publishing of the 2027 class. This series of articles is to introduce them to our readers and every college coach in the country. We have been watching the 2027 class very closely throughout the entire club & high school season. A lot of the analysis has come from watching these players in person and also by watching the amazing footage that has been uploaded to everyone's recruiting profiles. We have been talking to a lot of coaches across the country and this class is littered with college prospects. The following players showed us all that they deserved to be added to the rankings due to their individual performances.    Please welcome [player_tooltip player_id='807695' first='Brooke' last='Ogden'] to the Prep Dig California State Ranking List. She is currently ranked as the No. 47 overall player in the 2027 grad class. [player_tooltip player_id='807695' first='Brooke' last='Ogden'], an outside hitter from Tesoro High School and [program_tooltip program_id='429377' first='Coast' last='Volleyball Club'], is the kind of player who earns her ranking every time she steps on the court. At 6'1", she brings a physical presence on the left pin that immediately demands attention from opposing defenses, and she has the athletic ability to back up everything that frame suggests. She attacks with power and intent, using her length effectively to create angles that shorter blockers simply cannot take away. What separates her from players who are just tall is her ability to read the game and make smart decisions with the ball rather than relying on athleticism alone to bail her out. Her footwork in transition tells you the technical work is being done at a high level at Coast, a program with a strong tradition of developing college-ready athletes in Southern California. Brooke is going to be entering her senior season as an established name on the California ranking landscape, and the programs that have not yet engaged with her need to move quickly. She is a legitimate upper-end prospect in one of the most competitive states in the country. Please help us congratulate her on earning this well deserved recognition.     Please welcome [player_tooltip player_id='492285' first='Ruby' last='Sampson'] to the Prep Dig California State Ranking List. She is currently ranked as the No. 59 overall player in the 2027 grad class. Ruby is a middle blocker from Harvard-Westlake School in Studio City and CITY Volleyball Club. She is a player whose 6'2" frame and mobility at the net make her genuinely difficult to game plan against. She has the size that programs at every level are actively recruiting at the middle position, and she pairs it with an activity level and intent that makes her more than just a physical presence. Ruby challenges attackers over the top of the net rather than simply reacting and jumping, which is the difference between a middle blocker who changes matches and one who just occupies space. Her lateral movement through the middle of the system is clean and she transitions out of her defensive responsibilities efficiently, which speaks to the overall volleyball IQ she is bringing to the position. Harvard-Westlake is one of the more academically and athletically rigorous environments in Southern California, and competing there alongside high-level talent every day has clearly sharpened her game. She is ranked squarely in a range where programs at the highest level should be paying close attention. Ruby is a 2027 middle with the tools and the profile to climb even further before her class is finalized. Please help us congratulate her on earning this well deserved recognition. She is currently ranked as the No. 60 overall player in the 2027 grad class . Lydia is a libero from San Juan Hills High School and [program_tooltip program_id='429573' first='Wave' last='Volleyball Club'], and is exactly the kind of back row player that changes how a team operates from the moment she steps onto the court. At 5'8" she is one of the taller liberos in her class, and she uses that size to her advantage in ways that smaller liberos simply cannot, particularly in reading high-trajectory serves and controlling the platform angles that come with elite-level attacking. She processes the game quickly and gets to her position before most players her age have finished reading the play, which is the clearest sign of a well-trained back row specialist who has put in serious position-specific work. [program_tooltip program_id='429573' first='Wave' last='Volleyball Club'] is one of the premier development programs in Southern California with a long track record of producing college liberos who go on to compete at the highest level, and Lydia fits perfectly within the profile of players that program develops. Her serve receive is polished and her defensive range covers the court in a way that makes her setter's job significantly easier on every single rally. She holds a 4.4 GPA alongside her volleyball career, which tells you the discipline that shows up on the court is present everywhere else in her life as well. Lydia is a well-rounded, high-character prospect who deserves serious attention from programs looking for a back row anchor in the 2027 class.
