There have been some amazing tournaments and great district battles. We have been talking to coaches, reading tons of stats, and getting lots of video submissions from parents and players regarding how everyone has fared over the course of the season. As we are now done with the playoffs, we will be discussing some players who are being nominated for our Prep Dig Texas All-State Awards. Our end-of-season awards are going to be different because we are going to consider all divisions/conferences together and pick the best of the best. The Liberos we will be discussing have been tearing it up and proving themselves all season long with some amazing statistics. Let’s meet some of the nominees:
Kiley Brooks Kiley Brooks 5'7" | DS/L Northwest | 2026 State TX [2026] 5-6 Libero (HS: Northwest/Club: TX Pistols/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Kiley is currently an unranked prospect in the 2026 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings, but that is only because we have not released them yet. She plays for Northwest High School and plays club for Texas Pistols . Some players take a while to get acclimated to the varsity level, but not Miss Brooks. This year she was able to accumulate the second most digs amongst all freshman. Her dig total sits at an impressive 580. She also managed to have 524 service receptions and 60 aces on the season. I really love her soft contact on hard driven balls as she utilizes a very athletic collapse with her entire body to help soften the contact of the ball on her platform. She really understands angles also for balls outside of her midline and delivers consistent “perfect passes” to her setter. Please congratulate her on earning a nomination for an All-State Award.
Rileigh Butler Rileigh Butler 5'3" | DS/L Moe And Gene Johnson | 2026 State TX [2026] 5-2 Libero (HS: Johnson/Club: Austin Performance/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Rileigh is currently an unranked prospect in the 2026 class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She is a solid libero at Buda Johnson High School and also plays club for Austin Performance. Miss Butler’s dig total finished at 551 for the year. She also added 617 service receptions and 37 aces during her freshman season. Don’t sleep on her small five foot two height as this young lady can ball with the best of them. I love that she is interchangeable in the back row in both the left back and middle back spots. While most spectators don’t understand the differences in the two positions, those that are “in the know” understand that they require very different skill-sets. Rileigh is able to use great tracking and court vision in order to read the attack well. We think she has a very high ceiling as a libero and we will be keeping our eye on her closely throughout the club season. Please congratulate her on being nominated for an All-State award.
Julianna Hernandez Julianna Hernandez 5'6" | DS/L Frisco Memorial | 2026 State TX [2026] 5-3 Libero (HS: Memorial/Club: Texas Advantage /Verbal: Uncommitted)
Julianna is currently an unranked prospect in the 2026 class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but that is only because we have not released them yet. She was extremely impressive as a libero for Frisco Memorial High School this season. She also plays club for the famed Texas Advantage Volleyball program. In her first season on varsity at Memorial, she amassed 506 digs, 668 service receptions, and 53 aces. I love her super powerful jump float serve that stifles opposing serve receive passers. The most impressive aspect of her play for me is how disciplined she is with her posture. It doesn’t matter where she moves to on the court, this young lady will always be in perfect posture to play the ball close to the ground. Young players should watch how she moves and learn as it is “textbook” posture. We will be watching her very closely this club season. Please congratulate her on being nominated for an All-State award.
