Barrington (38-1 Overall) vs. Huntley (32-6 Overall)

Barrington and Huntley will face off for the third time this season in Friday night's super-sectional match. Of the two matches, Barrington and Huntley have each won and lost a match against each other. In fact, Barrington's only loss this season was to Huntley earlier in the season, which is what makes this match-up a great one to watch. To continue their 23-match winning streak, Barrington has quite the lineup that has put them on a path to having another very successful season. University of Arizona Beach Volleyball commit, [player_tooltip player_id='138661' first='Jessica' last='Horwath'], as well as a junior setter and opposite hitter, [player_tooltip player_id='136595' first='Jenna' last='Meitzler'] have both been huge leaders for Barrington in not only their physical play but also have presented phenomenal teammate skills. Backing them up is a junior middle blocker, [player_tooltip player_id='136599' first='Berkeley' last='Ploder']. Standing at 6'2" combined with her 10'1" approach touch makes her an offensive threat and has led to her an efficient 0.231 hitting percentage on the season. The most impressive part about Ploder's contribution this season is her defense in the front row, averaging 1.1 blocks per set, and is looking to add to the 84 total blocks she already has this season. On the other side of the net, sophomore outside hitter, [player_tooltip player_id='207810' first='Georgia' last='Watson'] will be a tough player to stop with her heavy swing and great offensive production she brings to her team at Huntley. Watson puts away, on average 2.6 kills per set at an efficiency of 0.263 on the season. As a 6'2" outside, she uses her height and great approach touch to put balls away and has learned to take on a bigger role for Huntley, who has been ranked among one of the top programs in Illinois all season. The last time Barrington and Huntley played each other, at the end of the match there was only a four-kill difference between the two teams which shows how great Barrington and Huntley will compete on Friday Night.

St. Charles East (32-7 Overall) vs. Loyola Academy (31-8 Overall)

St. Charles East is going to bring everything they have to ensure that head coach Jennie Kull gets to finish her final season with a state championship. [player_tooltip player_id='138660' first='Kate' last='Goudreau'] is the top performer for St. Charles East and will give everything she has before her senior season comes to a close. Goudreau is an outside hitter whose phenomenal arm swing gets on balls fast, but what is more impressive is her contact that is made at a complete extension of her arm swing, helping her put a ball away over almost any block that is in front of her. As a blocker, she has a very natural read on hitters' tendencies helping her get her hands over fast to seal her block into the hitter's territory. While it is rare she doesn't get a block touch when she puts a block up like that, she knows the backcourt is covered by senior libero and University of South Florida commit, [player_tooltip player_id='225988' first='Lia' last='Schneider']. What makes Schneider stand out from most players her age is her very disciplined serve-receive technique and the spacing she manages to find for her platform to put out an early angle giving her setters a perfect pass to run an offense out of. She is disciplined in more ways than one, but her relentless defensive moves keep St. Charles in system in any match they play. [player_tooltip player_id='225988' first='Lia' last='Schneider'] will do a great job of keeping the swings alive that she will see coming from middle blocker, [player_tooltip player_id='191426' first='Ava' last='Bogan'] on the other side of the net. Bogan, a 6'5" middle who is committed to play at Cornell University next fall and will be a huge block for St. Charles East's hitters to go through. Both teams have yet to see each other this season and are looking to extend their seasons and lead them down to the state tournament. The team's records are closely matched for the season, however, the real question is how their strength of schedule prepared them for a match-up like this in hopes to make it down to the Redbird Arena. The match will take place at Hinsdale Central on Friday, November 4th, at 6:00 pm.
