Matches will be played on Monday and Tuesday.
This week will be filled with exciting matches in every corner of the Lone Star State and our Prep Dig Texas team will try and cover as many as possible to keep you up-to-date on everything that’s going on in the most important moment of the season.
We’ll also try to, as much as possible, daily present some of the most exciting matchups as we continue to feature one playoff match in each of the four regions of the state of Texas.
Region 1: Stephenville vs. Springtown – Peaster HS – 6 PM
The Stephenville Yellow Jackets (31-8) are undefeated in their last 16 matches after they won Conference 4A – District 6 with eight straight matches and swept Estacado in the bi-district round and Krum in the area round. Outside hitters Genesis Mendez (junior) and Tatum Smith (senior) and sophomore middle blocker Keirstyn Carlton Keirstyn Carlton 6'2" | MB Stephenville | 2025 State TX have been some of Stephenville’s top players this season.
The Springtown Porcupines (29-15) overcame Burkburnett in the bi-district round and Mineral Wells in the area round ahead of the encounter with Stephenville. The team has finished second in Conference 4A – District 8 with eight wins and two losses. Senior outside hitter Brinklee Dauenhauer is one kill away from reaching 499 in the season. Other key players for Springtown are senior setter Kylie Druxman, who has tallied north of 1,000 assists, and junior outside hitter Stoli Cox.
Region 2: Rochelle vs. Lingleville – Brownwood HS – 6:30 PM
The Rochelle Hornets (27-6) have last lost a match on August 16 and are in the middle of a 25-match winning streak. They won Conference 1A – District 15 with six victories and have topped Moran in the area round. Junior right side Cara Cox, senior setter Trinity Lewis and sophomore outside hitter Kaylee Arnold are some of Rochelle’s most important players.
The Lingleville Cardinals (11-9) were also undefeated in district play, winning all their five matches to rank at the top of Conference 1A – District 13. The Cardinals cruised past Richland Springs in the area round. Sophomore setter Kenleigh Jones, senior middle blocker Araceli Rangel and junior outside hitter Kaitlyn Gordon are key players for the team.
Region 3: Dawson vs. Summer Creek – Philipps Fieldhouse – 6 PM
The Dawson Eagles (31-13) from Pearland are coming from a dramatic five-set victory against Deer Park in the area round. Before that, the team ranked second in Conference 6A – District 23 with ten wins and two losses and topped Brazoswood in the bi-district round. Some of Dawson’s key players are senior outside hitter Kailey Thedford Kailey Thedford 5'9" | OH Dawson | 2023 State TX , junior setter Addison Moss and sophomore middle blocker Kennedy Michelle Jones Kennedy Michelle Jones 6'0" | MB Pearland Dawson | 2025 TX .
The Summer Creek Bulldogs (27-17) from Houston dominated Conference 6A – District 21 with 13 victories and a single loss. In the postseason, the team has eliminated Pasadena in the bi-district round and Alvin in the area round. Junior right side Angelica Medina Angelica Medina 6'0" | RS Summer Creek | 2024 State TX , junior middle blocker Taylor Larkin Taylor Larkin 6'0" | MB Summer Creek | 2024 State TX and senior libero Kennedy Gustafson will be key for the Bulldogs against Dawson.
Region 4: Randolph vs. Columbus – Seguin HS – 6 PM
The Randolph Ro-Hawks (26-8) from Universal City are undefeated in their last 16 matches. The team has triumphed in Conference 3A – District 26 with 12 victories and defeated Edna in the bi-district round and Jourdanton in the area round prior to the meeting with Columbus. The team’s senior trio of Sanaa Taylor (setter), Jourdann Cathro (outside hitter) and Erica Washington (middle blocker) is heavily involved with everything the Ro-Hawks do on the court.
The Columbus Cardinals (42-3) have lost just three matches so far in the season and won their last 26. That includes their 14 Conference 3A – District 25 matches and their playoff matches against Nixon-Smiley (bi-district) and Poteet (area round). Junior outside hitter Ally Tribe is one of the top scorers in the entire state this season while junior setter Sage Thomas and junior middle blocker Ember Mandola also have important roles with the team.
