Top Performers
Jordan’s size and offensive power were too much for Lamar Consolidated to handle the entire match. The outside hitter was unstoppable at the pin and simply used her physical advantage to overpower the opposing blockers most of the time. Jordan had tremendous success hitting line over the top of Lamar’s shorter blockers. She left the court with a match-high 14 kills, which were enough to help her surpass 1,000 for her career, and three blocks.
Manvel’s talented setter helped make the match easy for her team with her intelligent and effective ball distribution. Massie felt the game well and kept all her hitters involved while also moving them around when in-system to keep the Mustangs guessing. With that strategy, she registered 32 assists. She was also strong from the service line, firing five aces, active of defense, tallying eight digs, and aggressive at the net, producing three kills and two blocks.
Bea Angeles

The Mavericks’ dynamic libero did a great job in remaining focused and ready in a match in which her team wasn’t really challenged. Angeles was impeccable with her passing, covering as much court as she could to lead the team with 16 passes. She was also very clean with her first contact on defense, registering 18 digs, and served to score two aces, also having had a good serving run going at the end of set two.
Lewis’ all-around game has improved a lot and that has made of her one of Manvel’s most important players in the match. She hit at a high rate from several different spots and made very few mistakes. Her line shot was never dug by the Mustangs and produced several of her ten kills. Lewis was also very reliable with her passing on the few occasions serves went her way, made good plays on defense tallying 13 digs and still fired three aces.
Brooke Morris

The Mustangs’ setter had a difficult night with her team’s passing struggles, but she did a good job in setting hittable balls to their hitters despite the conditions. Morris also showed great effort and made good plays on defense. She was crafty with a couple of setter dumps.
