Each of the victories earned on Day 1 was built on strong individual performances from some of the top players in the Lone Star State and, as part of our daily coverage of the event, we’ll highlight the most productive player in each match.
For today, we’ll look at the players that stood out in the semifinals of Divisions 1A and 2A.
Mabry Herrmann

D’Hanis have advanced to their first-ever Division 1A Championship Match with a sweep of Benjamin and the strong play of Herrmann was pivotal for their victory. The senior, who can also play as an outside hitter, was a force in the middle, tallying a match-high 17 kills and six blocks, tying the individual record for the most stops at the State Tournament. Herrmann also generated ten digs and fired an ace while on the backcourt.
Blum’s standout setter led her team to a sweep of Klondike in the second semifinal in the 1A Division. The Bobcats, who will play in their third-straight Championship Match, benefited from an excellent all-around effort from their star setter, who stuffed the stat sheet. Rumohr had an impressive 28 assists and also came up big on the backcourt, with 13 digs. She rounded up a huge performance with four kills (and no hitting errors), two aces and two blocks.

The senior outside hitter didn’t shy away from her role as a leader for Lindsay and helped the team win the most dramatic match of the day, a five-set battle with Leon in the Division 2A semifinals. The team, which will have a third try at the state title on Thursday, saw Hellman deliver another solid performance with 15 kills, ten digs, two aces and one block.

Annikah Frank
Windthorst are back in the Championship Match for the first time since 2016 and the junior outside hitter played a big part on it, leading the Trojanettes to a 3-1 victory over Schulenburg in the Division 2A semifinals. Frank was extremely productive on both sides of the ball, leaving the court with 14 kills and 22 digs, and still added three aces and two blocks in her outstanding performance.
