After watching some incredible volleyball this weekend, I am happy to introduce my UIL State Top Performers: Hitters

[player_tooltip player_id='183997' first='Sydney' last='McKay'] - Bellville

Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='183997' first='Sydney' last='McKay'] took a lot of the team responsibility on her shoulders in the Semi-Final round. The libero turned 6 rotation outside hitter made very few mistakes and was offensively so solid for Bellville. She has great elevation and snap on the ball, and she was very smart about her placement. Bellville will have another 2 great years with her returning.

[player_tooltip player_id='141116' first='Sydney' last='Garrison'] - Aubrey

[player_tooltip player_id='141116' first='Sydney' last='Garrison'] had a tough first couple of sets against Randall, but finished the Final set very strong for Aubrey. She showed what her capability was against Randall's block. Her defense was something to be proud of, and often times that's what kept Aubrey in the game.

[player_tooltip player_id='87549' first='Cindy' last='Tchouangwa'] - Tompkins

One of the most agile hitters in the state tournament, Cindy showed up big time in the Semi-Final round against Keller. She blocked well and played very good right-back defense. During the Finals, Tompkins really tried to get her working in the offense, and she mixed up her shots and took the heavy swing when she could.

Tendai Titley - Tompkins

One of my favorite hitters from this state tournament was senior Tendai Titley. Her presence on the court was amazing, and you could see her leadership come through in the way she interacted with her teammates. She aggressively called for the set, and never gave up even when Tompkins was down. She took control offensively in the Semi-Final round vs. Keller, and I could say that her dominance at the net was one of the reasons that Tompkins was able to pull out that game.

[player_tooltip player_id='87537' first='Mackenzie' last='Plante'] - Dripping Springs

6A MVP [player_tooltip player_id='87537' first='Mackenzie' last='Plante'] had a very solid showing in both state tournament games over the weekend. She never once waivered in her confidence or her athletic ability. She was dominant on offense and scrappy on defense, and she was not afraid to take the hard dig or the difficult set.

[player_tooltip player_id='176642' first='Claire' last='Dewine'] - The Woodlands

[player_tooltip player_id='176642' first='Claire' last='Dewine'] was a bright spot in the Woodlands offense in the Semi Final round vs Dripping Springs. The Woodlands struggled offensively even though their defense was tock solid. Claire was able to make offense happen from both pins and gave her team a shot.

Jordyn Gove - Randall

Jordyn Gove was featured in our Semi-Final Top Performers article, and she's back as a top hitter in the State Tournament. Believe it or not, Jordyn looked even better in Randall's State Championship against Aubrey, and she was unstoppable from the outside. She was fast and aggressive and had a commanding presence on the court.

[player_tooltip player_id='181962' first='Emma' last='Scott'] - Blum

[player_tooltip player_id='181962' first='Emma' last='Scott'] was on the UIL All-State Team and for good reason. She's got a major verticle and a quick arm swing to really get some monster swings. Emma not only can hit and block but the middle can pass and serve great as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='141132' first='Ella' last='Busey'] - Colleyville Heritage

[player_tooltip player_id='141132' first='Ella' last='Busey'] had a much better game than she did in the Semi-Final round, and scored the match-winning point for Colleyville. She was almost perfect on offense and near perfect on defense, which opened up so many options for Colleyville to choose from on offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='141135' first='Reagan' last='Engler'] - Colleyville Heritage

[player_tooltip player_id='141135' first='Reagan' last='Engler'] was amazing to watch in both the Semi-Final and the State Championship game. Her connection with setter Morgan Howard was uncanny and very fluid. If she got a hold of the ball, she was scoring, there was no doubt about that.

[player_tooltip player_id='180469' first='Suli' last='Davis']

[player_tooltip player_id='180469' first='Suli' last='Davis'] is not a new name to us this year, as she's made headlines all over the Dallas area, but seeing her play in person for the first time this season really showed me how good [player_tooltip player_id='180469' first='Suli' last='Davis'] is. Several times over 2 games, she went on 5 or 6 point scoring runs that the opposing team couldn't stop.

[player_tooltip player_id='141121' first='Halle' last='Schroder'] - Reedy

Reedy's 6 rotation outside [player_tooltip player_id='141121' first='Halle' last='Schroder'] did a great job in her final game against Colleyville. What was impressive to me was her defense in left back, and her ability to dig very difficult balls. She was the full package for Reedy in the State Tournament, and she will be a big loss for them next season.
