Continue ReadingWe are proud to announce our Prep Dig All-State Teams. Our All-State players are considered to have played the best at their respective position THIS YEAR. Some of the athletes listed may have played multiple positions on the court, but we have chosen them for the positions that we think they excelled at the most. We watched tons of matches this year and covered a lot of athletes in order to determine who was the best of the best. All of the wonderful players made it very difficult to decide both nominees and who eventually won due to their performances. Please help us congratulate these winners of our prestigious All-State Awards.
1st Team All State Selection: Libero
Molly Tuozzo Molly Tuozzo 5'7" | DS/L The Woodlands | 2023 State #38 Nation TX [2023] 5-7 Libero (HS: The Woodlands/Club: Houston Skyline/Verbal: Kentucky)
Molly is currently ranked as the 113th best overall and 10th best libero prospect in the 2023 class in the entire state of Texas. She plays at The Woodlands High School and also club for the nationally recognized Houston Skyline program. Here is a little from our last article on her, “Miss Tuozzo’s tally currently sits at 705 receptions and 1013 digs on the year. There is a reason Kentucky chose her to be on their roster next season. Her overall ball control has proven to be one of the main reasons why her team has a 40-9 overall record and 15-1 district record. We are very high on her abilities as a back row floor general due to her continued production on the court.” I am not sure that there was a better libero in the state than Molly. She helped her team to a superb run deep in the UIL State Playoffs. Her ball control is one of the main reasons why they were so competitive with every team they faced. She will for sure be moving up the rankings when I update them in a few weeks. Please help us congratulate her on earning 1st Team All-State from our publication.
1st Team All State Selection: Libero
Jenna McMichael Jenna McMichael 5'5" | DS/L Midlothian | 2023 State TX [2023] 5-5 Libero (HS: Midlothian/Club: Dallas Skyline/Verbal: Dallas Baptist University)
Jenna is currently ranked as the 83rd best overall prospect in the 2023 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She is a fantastic libero from Midlothian High School and also plays club for Dallas Skyline. Here is a little from the last article when she was nominated, “This young lady has such a nose for the ball and continues to prove just how valuable she is on the court for any team she competes for. I love how hard she plays the game in the back row. Her total count of receptions stands at 686 while she also had 856 digs on the year. Her defensive range is one of the best in the nation in my opinion. Midlothian had a wonderful season with an overall record of 37-5 and a district record of 15-1 because of her play. She is able to read the play well before it happens so she can put herself in the best position to play the ball.” Jenna keeps getting better and better each time I watch her. I think she must have magnets in her platform that just attract the ball, because she seems to always be in the right position to play it. I am sure her body is filled with bumps and bruises from her countless attempts at lunging and flying around to keep the ball in play. Please help us congratulate her on earning 1st Team All-State. She has definitely earned it with her overall level of play during her senior season.
