Club Team Previews: Alamo 17 Premier

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Alamo 17 Premier is a team I really like to cover because they are fun to watch, they are competitive, they are hungry for competition and they are just an all-around solid team. I got to see her for the first time last club season and was impressed with how she ran the court. She is very assertive and has a great connection with her hitters. She likes running a fast-paced offense that Alamo will need to keep the edge this season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='197082' first='Jaylin' last='Lott'] / Libero / @JaylinLott</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Clark High School libero [player_tooltip player_id='197082' first='Jaylin' last='Lott'] will be assisting the backrow this season. Alamo 17 Premier is blessed to have two phenomenal passers with Lott and Davila. I've said it before during school season, but Jaylin plays one of the best middle-backs I have seen thus far. Her reading is great and she almost never gets beat to a corner. Alamo 17 Premier will be hard to beat defensively if Jaylin is back there.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='155128' first='Kalina' last='Calvillo'] / Outside / @<a href="https://x.com/kalinacalvillo">kalinacalvillo</a></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>If you're looking to watch a hitter that has a lot of range, speed, and versatility and can also bounce balls, look no further than Alamo 17 Premier and [player_tooltip player_id='155128' first='Kalina' last='Calvillo']. She has a fast follow-through that really puts a lot of heat on the ball, and if your block is late, she will make you regret it.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='177527' first='Austin' last='Smoak'] / Middle / @<a href="https://x.com/austinsmoak18">austinsmoak18</a></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Moster blocker [player_tooltip player_id='177527' first='Austin' last='Smoak'] will bring her blocking skills to this team this season. The junior was a blocking machine during her school season, and we expect nothing less this spring. She is a huge force on the front row both offensively and defensively.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='142200' first='Megan' last='Hawkins'] / Setter / @Meganehawkins24</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='142200' first='Megan' last='Hawkins'] is a great setting option for Alamo 17 Premier. She allows them to possibly go into a 6-2 rotation and use their abundance of solid hitters to their advantage. She is a product of the highly regarded Canyon volleyball program, and her skill set will be a huge asset to her team.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='124145' first='Macie' last='Mathis'] / Outside / @<a href="https://x.com/maciemathisvb/media">maciemathisvb</a></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I like [player_tooltip player_id='124145' first='Macie' last='Mathis'] on this team because of her versatility. She can hit anywhere along the net. She is tall and has a high verticle but also uses that verticle to keep the ball high on contact.
