As we complete this expo coverage I think it’s important to share I personally tried to get eyes and capture notes on as many players as possible. Of course, it’s an impossible task and we don’t want anyone to be discouraged if they didn’t get a write-up. Be sure to send your club teams and schedule to me on Twitter @prep_q and I will attempt to get eyes on you this winter/spring. With that said, here are our final outsides that showed me something at the expo.
The 5’9″ freshman showed she has a promising future in the sport. She probably has another growth spurt in her that will help her continue to development on the pin. We saw her tool the block on a few occasions as well as score in the seams. She will compete for High Performance this club season.
Highlights
Harris made the journey from the southwest part of the state of Kansas traveling from Garden City and she came with her game. At 5’11”, she used her size to power through the block and showed good vision in determining her shot selection. She was an asset defensively, getting touches on quite a few attacks across the net from her. She averaged 3.5 kills per set this past fall for her high school.
Highlights
The Towanda Circle High product did her thing during the showcase, showing she can compete at the next level. She is a scoring machine and has been ways to find the floor while on attack. She displayed a high volleyball IQ in deciding when to attack the high hands or go line for example. She had over 400 kills this fall and should be on the radar for some DII programs in the state.
Highlights
I saw Tyrrell earlier this fall in the Volleyball Slam and was impressed with her play. The thing that stood out during the expo was her growth in a few short months in shot selection. You can see she’s growing in her read of defenses and set placement in deciding where to go on the attack. She is steady in serve receive and defense.
