Michigan Top 250: Top Pin Attackers (Pt. 1)

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Top 250 tour is in full swing and the tour has made its stop to Michigan. One of the biggest up-and-coming hot beds of volleyball talent in America, the Michigan Top 250 was stacked from top to bottom. Some of the top names in the Mitten state were on full display and it made for some amazing volleyball in the UWM Sports Complex!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The depth of talent in the pins is pretty tough to contend with, there were so many high level pin attackers at this weekend's Prep Dig Top 250. Here were some of the standouts.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":4} --> <h4>[player_tooltip player_id='226888' first='Aubree' last='Deshetsky'] - 5'9 OH/S - North Branch/Legacy</h4> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>One of the top freshman in the state, [player_tooltip player_id='226888' first='Aubree' last='Deshetsky'] did not disappoint in her Top 250 debut. While one of the most versatile players in the field, Deshetsky can attack, pass and set at a very high level. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":4} --> <h4>[player_tooltip player_id='226895' first='Jillian' last='Ferrill'] - 5'10 OH/S - Lake Fenton/High Performance</h4> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Another outside hitter, setter combination in the freshman class. This is another player that is poised to have an excellent club season in 2023. Her size doesn't hold her back one bit as Marteen can jump out of the gym and is an electric attacker.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":4} --> <h4>Sophia Barber - 6'0 OH - Marian/Michigan Elite</h4> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>She's well known in the Indiana circuit, but welcome to Michigan, Sophia Barber! A recent addition to the already stacked field of athletes in Michigan's 2025 class, Barber can go toe-to-toe with the best. A very strong passer and defender, Barber can also deliver some intense heat.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":4} --> <h4>[player_tooltip player_id='156284' first='Gabriella' last='Babinski'] - 6'2 OPP - South Lyon East/Michigan Elite</h4> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Just as previewed, [player_tooltip player_id='156284' first='Gabriella' last='Babinski'] is a name to keep an eye on for the next several years. As well rounded as they come, it's a pleasant surprise to see an attacker at this level so smooth on the right side. You can very much see the roots Barnekova has from her time in the middle, she's quick to adjust on the fly and her arm speed is fast. Her versatility will be a big difference maker this coming season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":4} --> <h4>[player_tooltip player_id='156287' first='Isabelle' last='Busignani'] - 6'1 OH - Marian/Michigan Elite</h4> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It's the year of the bus! Another player on a steep upward trajectory,&nbsp;<strong>[player_tooltip player_id='156287' first='Isabelle' last='Busignani']</strong><a href="https://prepdig.com/player/isabelle-busignani/"><strong></strong><strong></strong><strong></strong></a><a></a>&nbsp;continues to impress time and time, again. While a very strong point scorer on the court, what is most striking about Busignani is her ball control. It's a rare feat to find a player that can do both at such a high level, Busignani can do it all.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":4} --> <h4>[player_tooltip player_id='156292' first='Jessica' last='Costlow'] - 6'0 OH - SMCC/Michigan Elite</h4> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Coming off her second straight first team All-State performance this fall, I have a feeling [player_tooltip player_id='156292' first='Jessica' last='Costlow'] is poised for an even bigger 2023. With the ball control to rival the toughest liberos, Costlow follows it up with some crazy court vision. She can find the holes in the defense so well and score at a very efficient rate.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":4} --> <h4>[player_tooltip player_id='261190' first='Makayla' last='Credit'] - 5'9 OH/MB - South Lyon East/Michigan Elite</h4> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Another player with some roots in the middle trying their hand on the pins, this looks to be a very good fit for <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='261190' first='Makayla' last='Credit']</strong>. Like her counterparts, the speed in which Credit plays with pays off immensely on the left pin. Her blocking across the net is also top notch.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":4} --> <h4>[player_tooltip player_id='196766' first='Tara' last='Creekmore'] - 6'0 OH - Plymouth/L2</h4> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Watch out below, because [player_tooltip player_id='196766' first='Tara' last='Creekmore'] is sending over some bombs! A heavy arm, no doubt, I loved seeing Creekmore's strength in a variety of situations. David is one of the most athletic kids in the gym. While I wasn't able to catch a lot of her in 6v6 action, David still managed to impress in her positional work.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":4} --> <h4>[player_tooltip player_id='261184' first='Liz' last='Grajewski'] - 5'8 OH - North Farmington/High Performance</h4> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>When you're undersized, you got to know how to get up and take some crafty shots. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='261184' first='Liz' last='Grajewski']</strong> knows the deal! With springs for legs, Grajewski has some great ups. She also showed some great vision when scoring with her use of the block and finding open court mid-air.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
