First, there are quite a few top recruits opting not to play club this winter which has us thinking it may be more and more common to see athletes graduating early to join their teams for the spring season. Second, there are some really phenomenal players that are still uncommitted and could be huge pick-ups this winter. The top three available recruits are pin hitters so there is certainly an overabundance of pin hitters.
Berger only moved a couple spots from #4 to #2 but after leading Eden Prairie to the X and taking Vital Volleyball ‘ last=”] 18-1 Gold on an epic nationals run last summer she earned a spot on the AVCA All-America Watch List, 2nd Team All Region, and another year on the Class AAAA ALl-State team. She is committed to Michigan State and I can’t find her on any club rosters yet. Berger will do big things so get ready to hear her name, a lot.
Jones made a big jump considering she was already at #10. Jones has tallied quite a few honors in 2022 including 1st Team All-Region, Class AAA All-State Team, Finalist for Ms. Baden, Class AAA All-State Tournament Team and led her team to a Class AAA State Championship. She earned a spot on the SWMNVB 18-1s before heading to SMSU in the fall. Jones is sure to make a big splash at the next level.
Blascziek knows how to win. She made a big jump in the rankings after earning Class AAAA All-State honors and being a Ms. Baden finalist. Blascziek also earned a Class AAAA All-State Tournament honors while leading Lakeville North to the Class AAAA State Championship match. She plays with a really high volleyball IQ and I would dare to guess could be a really good chess player because she knows how to strategize. Add to this her gritty nature, Temple picked up a really awesome addition to their program.
Blohm earned a spot on the Class AAA All-State Team and Northern Lights 18-1. She jumped a couple spots because of her ability to be an instant difference maker. Blohm is physical and always ready at the net. She has fast footwork and is loaded, ready to block on every play.
Menz made one of the biggest jumps coming from #63. She made the Class AAA All-State team, AVCA MaxPreps Minnesota Player of the Week (Sept 4th), and recently landed a spot on the MN Select 18-1. Menz is committed to Northern State and has seen a ton of reps on both pins making her a highly sought after recruit.
