Berger is a setter who can run a 5-1 with ease. She can also run a 6-2 and swing when she isn’t setting. Berger has a really high volleyball IQ and can consistently jump set with accuracy. She plays with tenacity and little ego as you can tell she plays to win, not for individual stats or glory. Berger is an immediate impact player that can lead on and off the court.
Blascziek can run a 5-1 or a 6-2 as a quick athlete and the ability to lead and direct the court. She runs a quick offense and is an active threat that keeps the opposing blockers and defense on their toes. Blascziek is smart, aggressive, driven, and good communicator. She gets some great block touches and plays really scrappy defense. Blascziek runs an offense with speed that wears blockers out and if you give her the weapons she is unstoppable.
Timperley was absolute fire this fall as both a setter and attacker. In the last year she’s garnered big honors along with being named to the AVCA All-America Watch List and the Class AAAA All-State Team. Most recently she made the Northern Lights 18-1 team and demonstrated her comfort with running a 6-2 or 5-1 with a quick tempo. Timperley operates as a floor general and she has a firm understanding of how plays and combination sets and how they can impact the game. Jump setting is a consistent part of her toolbox.
Thein earned her way onto the Class A All-State Team as well on the SWMNVB 18-1s team. She emphasizes the offensive part of the game and can run a variety of sets including all 3 tempos. Thein can set accurately standing or jumping and she is also a capable attacker. She consistently sets with pace and can transition to the net from defense or out of serve receive quickly. Thein does a great job getting to the ball with her feet every time which makes the rest of her job easy.
Stassen racked up spots on the Class A All-State Team and the Class A State All-Tournament Team while leading Minneota to a Class A State Championship title. I haven’t found her on a club roster yet but I certainly hope she is looking to continue her playing career because I would love to see her athleticism at the next level. She understands how to “better the ball” and she has elite pursuit skills that minimizes terminal passing errors and lets her team know she’s got their back. Stassen nails getting the out of system ball up for her hitters and she knows how to utilize the back row attack and when to push to the antennas. When you watch Stassen you can see she is the type of player that plays for her team and will fill any role you need.
