Two weekends ago a ton of great talent gathered in the city of San Antonio to compete in a fantastic tournament that was dubbed the 210 Countdown City Classic that was held by both San Antonio Force and Alamo Volleyball. It was a wonderful event that housed some amazing competition from around the Lone Star Region. There were tons of teams from the Rio Grand Valley area, Central Texas, and the Houston area as well. I was in action covering the event over the two days and would like to share some players who stood out to me in a series of articles. Without further ado let’s meet some of the standouts.
Arianna Muoneke Arianna Muoneke 6'0" | OH Cy-Fair | 2026 State TX [2026] 6-0 Outside (HS: Concordia Lutheran/Club: Houston Juniors /Verbal: Uncommitted)
Arianna is currently an unranked prospect in the 2026 Class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings, but that is only because I have not released them yet. She will have no problem being listed and should vie for one of the top spots for sure. She plays high school volleyball at Concordia Lutheran High School and club for Houston Juniors . We at prep Dig are very high on this youngster from what we saw in person working with her at our Top 250 Showcase in December. It has only been a month since that event and I have seen even more improvement in her game against some stellar competition. HJV is doing a great job in bringing her along in her journey. She is a true six rotation left side pin who can do it all on the court. Her ability to pass/dig from the back row with both her platform and her hands is next level. When you couple that with her airborne antics from the front row, you have one unstoppable athlete who will garner national attention as this season continues. We will be watching her closely and you should too. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed if you put her in your short list of players to watch.
Mya Cheatum Mya Cheatum 5'10" | OH Cedar Park | 2026 State TX [2026] 5-10 Outside (HS: Cedar Park/Club: Austin Juniors/ Verbal: Uncommitted)
Mya is currently an unranked prospect according to the 2026 Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but that is only because I have not released them yet. She is a solid left side attacker that plays for Cedar Park High School and also for Austin Juniors. I noticed her first in warm ups as she was putting some serious top spin on the ball from amazing hand contact. When the first set was over I had tons of notes on her as she was one of the players who stole the show for me. I was in awe of the stellar hand contact as she was able to move the ball to any zone she wanted offensively. This kind of ball control is key to longevity in the position as she gets older. She was one of the “go to” players for this AJV team when I watched and this should continue as the season progresses also. She has both a big arm who can pound and an off-speed shot game also which will keep the defense guessing. If she can play chess with her shot selection, she will be a force to be reckoned with for sure. Stay tuned for more on Miss Cheatum.
Ava Carrasquillo Ava Carrasquillo 6'0" | S Vandegrift | 2026 State TX [2026] 6-0 Setter/Right Side (HS: Vandegrift/Club: Roots/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Ava is currently an unranked prospect in the 2026 class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but that is only because I have not released them yet. Miss Carrasquillo plays at Vandergrift High School and also for the Roots volleyball club program. Although also listed as a middle, this young lady played setter and right side when I watched them compete in San Antonio. She caught my eye because of her size, but she won me over with her consistent play. I loved everything about her from her serve to her setting to her attacking. She uses those lengthy arms to battle at the net and also to extend the ball all the way to the antenna during out of system sets. Offensively she has an absolute cannon for a right arm and she unleashed it a few times while I watched them play. I have added her to my players to watch for as the season progresses to see her individual progress in each skill-set. But so far, she has me intrigued from my initial viewing. Stay tuned for more on Miss Carrasquillo.
