This class at Milwaukee Sting has been on the radar for a while. A handful have been apart of state title teams in Wisconsin and have played in some huge matches at the high school and club level. The 17 Gold team returns a strong core of athletes who were on their USAV 16 Open qualifying team and will have their eyes on the prize again to punch a ticket to an open bid. However, the Black and White team for Sting have plenty of college caliber athletes and will have their own aspirations of playing in some big matches that will land them in a good spot for USAV nationals in Chicago. Let's take a look at some 2024s from Milwaukee Sting

The Outsides

Milwaukee Sting 17 Gold has a whole batch of outsides who are uncommitted, however that could be tied up rather quickly once the club season starts rolling. [player_tooltip player_id='122499' first='Melia' last='Johnson'] will be back and ready for a strong season where she was extremely key for the 16 Gold run to USAV 16 Open, heavy swing and can pass out of the backrow as well. [player_tooltip player_id='122576' first='Kendall' last='Heger'] will be on 17 Gold after being a six rotation stud for 16 Black in 2022. She is a ball control outside with plenty of consistency where she could even be a high level libero. [player_tooltip player_id='122516' first='Olivia' last='Kwiatkowski'] has always been part of this group and is a well trained point scorer.

On Sting 17 Black, there are so many hidden gems who would make plenty of college programs better. [player_tooltip player_id='122577' first='Briana' last='Binagi'] out of Kettle Moraine has been apart of successful high school and club teams, she knows how to play big in big moments. [player_tooltip player_id='122557' first='Ellie' last='Schumacher'] and [player_tooltip player_id='122573' first='Gabby' last='Wold'] are dynamic where they can score from both pins. They attack with no fear and bring a heavy swing making it tough for the other side of the net to keep in system. A new athlete to keep an eye on is [player_tooltip player_id='181738' first='Peri' last='Subat'] out of Sheboygan Falls. I was able to see Subat in the high school season and again at the Wisconsin Top 250. She has an active arm and so much upside, it will be fun to see her development over the course of the season.

A lot of these athletes in the middle I know can be utilized on the right side. A prime example of this would be [player_tooltip player_id='122574' first='Olivia' last='Wyma']. Wyma had a huge season in 2022 on Sting 16 Gold where she played some middle, but then really found her spot on the right side with able to put up a really strong 6'4 block. She's long, strong, and her game continues to evolve. [player_tooltip player_id='122468' first='Rylea' last='Alvin'] is a commander out of the middle and on the basketball court as well as she is a standout in both. Her physicality is unmatched and her ceiling at the next level is incredible, she's the type of kid you root for. On the right side is an athlete who was the X-Factor in her high school team winning Wisconsin's large class state title was [player_tooltip player_id='122569' first='Sophia' last='Wendlick']. She's 6'2, can play a little backrow, but is so dynamic in the front row where she can come out of the middle on a two ball for an automatic kill, swing on the outside in serve receive, and is highly efficient on the right side. On Sting 17 Black, a new player on this squad to watch is Natalia Farugia. Super physical, great leaper, and so strong at the net - this could be a big breakout year for her. Let's not forget about a middle who will be playing on 18 White in [player_tooltip player_id='122528' first='Sophia' last='Nowak'] out of Arrowhead High School, She is real dynamic and could be utilized on the right side as well - a fast twitch type of athlete.

[player_tooltip player_id='122479' first='Emily' last='Bruss'] will run the show for Sting 17 Gold where she was the main setter for the Black teams the past two seasons. Bruss is extremely well trained, great hands, long, and a strong net player. She's been a standout at the long jump and triple jump for her high school and her leaping ability is evident on the court. This could be a big season for her. [player_tooltip player_id='158689' first='Jordan' last='Bauer'] and Greta Pleuss will be the setters for Sting 17 Black. I was able to see Bauer during the high school season for New Berlin West where she was able to get her attackers in the best position to terminate and was very athletic.

The Bros

The 17 Gold liberos are spoken for with [player_tooltip player_id='122523' first='Claire' last='Luoma'] heading to Clemson and [player_tooltip player_id='122466' first='Jae' last='Fitting'] going to Loyola Chicago. However, as I previously mentioned I think [player_tooltip player_id='122576' first='Kendall' last='Heger'] could be a utility player at the next level where she can swing or defend - whatever the team needs. At the 17 Black level, it starts with their sparkplug in [player_tooltip player_id='122512' first='Georgia' last='Koscielak'], she brings a ton of fire and energy to the court and has plenty of experience of being a libero at a high level. Her intangibles are tilting all the right ways. [player_tooltip player_id='187642' first='Alexandra' last='Prange'] will be another DS/libero to keep tabs on this team.
