Emily makes smart choices and spreads her offense well.

No team got more than 15 points on them, and a huge part of their success was how Emily ran the court. She plays a 5-1, and with her at the helm, the court runs like a well-oiled machine.

Bruss has great hands to go along with a very athletic style of play. She’s grown into such a precise setter putting the ball right where her hitters need it. What was even better is after seeing her make an error, she responds so well with the next set being pin point accurate. I love that kind of mental toughness! It’s so fun to watch her connect with a number of really talented attackers.

Bruss has quick footwork, soft hands and the ability to move the ball quickly from pin to pin. She can jump set just about every type of tempo and has great court awareness. Bruss does a great job holding the middle and then gets a quick set out to give her attacker a one on one situation. The Sting 17 Gold crew will be a fun one to watch this season.

At this point in these athlete’s careers we have seen many play numerous times, and Emily is an athlete I have had the opportunity to see play since she was at the 14s level. She bumped from 26th to 24th in this ranking update. She is a hard-working athlete that is always working on her game. Emily runs the court well and is a leader for her team.
