#21, Jasmine Porter (Whitefield Academy)– Senior star for Whitefield Academy, Jasmine Porter counted 96 total blocks with 79 solos! Porter is your go-to, aggressive middle hitter that will get the job done at all costs. You want her in the game to lead with passion and a little bit of that dominant demeanor. She also led the team in kills with 152 and averaged 1.90 kills per set. This fiery player will be missed for Whitefield!
#22, Trinity Hannon (Berea)– Another stud from Berea, this senior outside hitter, Trinity Hannon led the team in blocks with 70, averaging 1.15 blocks per set. Hannon also helped the team offensively with 186 kills, averaging 3.05 kills per set. Her numbers only tell part of the story though because of her leadership, grit, and competitive attitude. Being the full package might look easy on paper, but Hannon carries all the load with her heart and mind.
#23, Sarah Clark Sarah Clark S Elizabethtown | 2023 State KY (Elizabethtown)– I don’t have enough great things to say about this senior all-star. Sarah Clark Sarah Clark S Elizabethtown | 2023 State KY calculated 137 blocks this year, but that’s not nearly the reason why she’s so special. Clark played every position for Elizabethtown and excelled in every single role. Gathering 365 kills, 137 blocks, 549 assists, 300 digs, and 72 service aces is almost unheard of. When the team needed someone to step up, Clark always took the lead. She never wavered from a fight and was the definition of what a captain should be. Playing basketball and volleyball, her athleticism is through the roof, and Clark is still undecided about her plans for the future.
#24, Katelyn Huffaker (Barren County)– Middle blocker for Barren County, junior, Katelyn Huffaker, was monumental at the net this year with 43 blocks in 38 sets. Averaging 1.13 blocks per set, Huffaker knew her role for the team and went out defensively to make a play. She may not have been the strongest hitter or defensive player, but she performed her job at a high level which is what the team needed. Tracking the ball is very hard as a blocker, but Huffaker really excelled in this position and worked hard transitionally.
#25, Kaylen Gallenstein (St. Patrick)– Lastly, filling spot number 25, we have senior middle blocker, Kaylen Gallenstein who racked up 96 total blocks this year. St. Patrick had a record year with a district championship, and Gallenstein was one of the athletes who made a huge impact for this game. Tallying 6 kills and 7 total blocks, Gallenstein knows how to put on a game face and work hard for her team. Gallenstein persevered through every obstacle this year and earned her place on all-district team.
