A number of these prospects came through with a standout prep season in 2022. Some of those have since added to that with a great start to the winter club season.
Here’s the first of two parts looking at 2026 names that are already turning some heads in the state.
Aleah Brackett Aleah Brackett 5'8" | RS Bronson | 2026 State MI , S/RS Bronson
Brackett looks to be another solid hitter to come through the Bronson program. With the Vikings set at setter, Brackett came through in a big way during the fall as a hitter and defender. She is able to attack with a lot of power without having to expel a lot of energy. Coming out of Bronson, she’s going to be a well-coached and technically sound player with each passing year.
Macey Brown, OH Mattawan
Brown was a great complimentary offensive piece for Mattawan this past fall. She has a lot of lift off the court and is able to attack the ball at a high point, creating a lot of velocity on her attacks. Listed at 5’6”, Brown definitely plays much longer on the court.
Karis Chatfield Karis Chatfield 5'11" | OH Jenison | 2026 State MI , OH Jenison/FaR Out
Chatfield looks to be a natural. She stepped in right away as a freshman for Jenison, being among the team leader in kills and digs. Approaching 6’0”, Chatfield is also a basketball standout. She’s got great footwork and instincts on the floor. She’s part of FaR Out 15 Black this club season as well, looking to add new dimensions to her swing.
Madeline Dettling Madeline Dettling 6'0" | OH SMCC | 2026 State MI , OH SMCC/Michigan Elite
Dettling was a big addition to the SMCC offense this year, which already had plenty of talent. She added a little size the team needed, as she stands 6’0” and appears even longer at the net. Dettling was a great power arm and blocking option for the Kestrels, but now is finding some new gears in her game for Michigan Elite 15 Mizuno.
Gabby DiVita Gabby DiVita 6'1" | OH Grosse Pt. South | 2026 State MI , OH Grosse Pointe South/Legacy
DiVita was already well established coming into the fall of 2022 for helping Legacy 15-1 ADIDAS win an Open national title in the 2022 club season. The All-American hitter followed that up with a great first prep season at GP South. In the 2023 club season, DiVita is staying with 15-1 ADIDAS, which has given the team an invaluable level of experience.
Liv Hosford, MH Rockford/MVA
Hosford is one we’ve talked about plenty, but it will be hard not to continue to speak on her play. An All-State player in Division 1 as a freshman was as dominant a middle as you can ask for at this stage of her game. She had 362 kills and 160 blocks for the Rams in 2022. This club season, she’s playing the outside for MVA and proving to be a great all-around talent.
Emma Keeping Emma Keeping 5'11" | S Imlay City | 2026 State MI , S Imlay City/Michigan Elite
Though she’s a primary setter, Keeping can do anything that is needed on the court. The 5’10” left-handed setter from Imlay City wore a lot of hats for the Spartans this fall and is doing more of the same for Michigan Elite 15 Mizuno this club season. The game seems to come naturally to Keeping, which allows her to make difficult sets and digs routinely.
Eva Long Eva Long 5'9" | S Fenton | 2026 State MI , S Fenton/Legacy
Long is getting to test her skills against the best right away. She was a starting setter for Fenton this past fall and now runs the Legacy 15-1 ADIDAS offense during the club season. There are big expectations on Legacy this year, and Long handles the pressure well. The 5’10” setter plays with a lot of size and speed and is very decisive with her decision-making on the court.
