We have been watching the 2025 class very closely throughout the entire high school and new club season. A lot of the analysis has come from watching these players in person and also by watching the amazing footage that has been uploaded to everyone’s recruiting profiles. We have been talking to a lot of coaches across the country and this class is littered with college prospects. The following players showed us all that they deserved to be added to the rankings due to their individual performances.
Macaria Spears Macaria Spears 6'3" | OH Prestonwood Christian | 2025 State #5 Nation TX [2025] 6-3 Outside (HS: Prestonwood Christian/Club: Texas Advantage Volleyball/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Please welcome Miss Spears officially to the State Rankings. Macaria is currently ranked as the best overall prospect in the 2025 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She stars on the pins for Prestonwood and plays for the awesome Texas Advantage Volleyball program again as she did when she was younger. Anyone who is anyone in this game knows her name and how valuable of a player she is. She is already on pace to be representing our national team in a few years and we are very proud to have her back in our wonderful state. She lived here when she was younger and dazzled on the court for TAV back then also. Since she moved back this past school season, she has blown the competition away. Her long arms make her a superb threat on the defensive end. Pressing over the net is a blockers best weapon and Miss Spears is one of the best at it. Offensively she is a dynamic threat that can score at any time from any location. She is playing up an age group and will keep TAV 17 Black in the lists of every college scout in the country. Please help us congratulate her on being named as the best player in her grad class in the great state of Texas.
Katelyn Bowman Katelyn Bowman 6'0" | MB Allen | 2025 State TX [2025] 5-11 Middle (HS: Allen/Club: Madfrog /Verbal: Uncommitted)
Please welcome Miss Bowman officially to the State Rankings. Katelyn is currently ranked as the 26th best overall prospect in the 2025 Class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She plays for Allen School and also for the Madfrog Volleyball club. Katelyn is strong enough to be playing up an age group and is strong in the middle for Madfrog 17 National Green. She made me stop in my tracks when I saw her obliterate a ball during her slide approach in a match. I immediately took a seat and enjoyed the show her and her teammates put on. I love how she is able to push off her outside foot to propel her laterally to the pins to block. She makes it look very easy as she explodes to where her pin blockers are. The casual observer won’t see how she uses amazing eye tracking to release early in order to set up for the block before the opposing setter is able to deliver to her hitter. This kind of defensive production is key to her squad’s success and Miss Bowman is elite at it. Keep an eye out for her as she continues to dominate out of the middle. Please help us congratulate her on being named one of the best players in the state.
Macey Hughes Macey Hughes 6'1" | RS Cornerstone Christian | 2025 State TX [2025] 6-1 Right Side (HS: Cornerstone Christian/Club: Alamo/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Please welcome Miss Hughes officially to the State Rankings. Macey is currently ranked as the 27th best overall prospect in the 2025 Class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She plays for Cornerstone Christian High School and also for the Alamo volleyball club. This lefty has been electric on the right side for Alamo so far this season. I have watched her in person a few times already and I am very impressed with her offensive abilities. She is capable of hitting a super sharp cut shot with tons of pace toward the opposing setter and right side that they usually don’t see in any match. Just when the defensive finally decides to take away the cut shot, Macey can paint the line with the exact same pace to score. She is one of those players that is extremely difficult to not only plan for, but also to match up with. Alamo is not afraid to use her as an offensive weapon out of the left side during serve receive and Miss Hughes usually comes through with a point being scored. We will be watching her very closely to see her make her mark in this state since moving over from Oregon. Please help us congratulate her on being named to our wonderful state rankings.
