Hughes stars for Alamo 17 Premier and for the star-studded Cornerstone Christian high school team and appears as the second-best player in her position and 28th overall in our State Rankings. A lefty with incredible resources, there’s no shot she can’t hit from the right and that gives her a considerable edge over opposing blockers and defenders. Hughes uses her length extremely well and is also capable of putting a lot of power into her swings. Her blocking is another big part of her game as she times her jumps well and makes aggressive moves with her arms above the net to stop opponents.

A new addition to her Alamo 16 Premier team that will compete in the 16 Open division in Atlanta, Hughes has immediately taken a key offensive role with her team. Her game at the net is extremely well-developed as the left-handed Hughes can send the ball in numerous different directions when set at the right. Besides diverse, her game is consistent too, offering her team a reliable scoring option. Hughes is also a strong blocker, who uses her length and jumping to put pressure on opposing hitters.

A new face in the state of Texas, Hughes immediately became the starter on the right for Alamo 16 Premier, which will also be competing in the 17-18 Girls division. She recently moved to San Antonio coming from Oregon and the fact that she has been able to immediately make an impact in strong teams such as Alamo 16 Premier and Cornerstone Christian speaks volumes about her quality. A lefty, Hughes is a heavy hitter, but she has endless resources to score and is also a very strong blocker.
