Club Team Close-Up: Iowa Rockets 15R

Since then, the season tipped off.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I'll make it out to some events through the season and will be at regionals, but wanted to continue highlighting some teams in conjunction with in-person evaluations.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Let's take a look at [program_tooltip program_id='431948' first='Iowa' last='Rockets'] 15R today:</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='388992' first='Emersyn' last='Guyer'], '26, DS, Wilton - </strong>Guyer appeared in 66 sets as a freshman with the Beavers in '22. She contributed 140 digs and a team-best 47 aces. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='243457' first='Emily' last='Henderson'], S, '26, Clear Creek Amana - </strong>Henderson paced a Clipper squad that reached the Class 4A state championship match with 513 assists, the seventh most among freshmen in Iowa. She added 203 digs and 22 aces. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='388991' first='Molly' last='Kemp'], '26, OH/RS, Davenport North - </strong>Kemp produced 101 kills during her freshman season last Fall. She also contributed 121 digs and 18 aces. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='243182' first='Isabelle' last='Kremer'], '26, RS/MB, Pleasant Valley - </strong>The defending state champion Spartans reached the 5A title match again in '22 with Kremer delivering 123 kills, 45.0 blocks and 33 digs. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='389934' first='Averie' last='Lower'], '26, OH, Clear Creek Amana - </strong>Lower burst on the scene with 222 kills and 338 digs as a ninth-grader, both the second most on the Clippers. She also chipped in with 50.0 blocks and 38 aces. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='329851' first='Macie' last='Lupkes'], '26, MB/RS, Central City - </strong>Lupkes appeared in the Wildcats' rotation as a freshman, contributing 67 kills and 27.0 blocks. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='320104' first='Presley' last='Myers'], '26, MB, Holy Trinity - </strong>The Crusaders reached the state tournament last Fall with Myers pounding 319 kills and registering 85.0 blocks. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='261094' first='Reese' last='Naeve'], '26, OH, Iowa City Regina - </strong>Naeve's 442 kills in '22 led the Regals and all freshmen in the state. She added 291 digs, 14.0 blocks and 16 aces. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='508627' first='Stella' last='Smith'], '25, MB, Davenport Central - </strong>Young for her grade, Smith produced 132 kills and 25.0 blocks as a sophomore for the Blue Devils last Fall. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Paycee Sorgenfrey, '26, S, Tipton - </strong>The Tigers' newcomer settled into the lineup nicely as a ninth-grader with 503 assists, the eighth most among freshmen in the state. She added 61 kills, 177 digs, 20.0 blocks and 50 aces. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='373682' first='Kennedey' last='Whitford'], '26, DS, Solon - </strong>The Spartans reached the regional finals with Whitford leading the them in digs (245).
