Club Team Close-Up: North Iowa Blaze 16-1

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>IOWA CITY, Iowa –&nbsp;</strong>We dug in with some club team previews (see bottom of this story for links) before the New Year. Since then, the season tipped off.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I'll make it out to some events through the season and will be at regionals, but wanted to continue highlighting some teams in conjunction with in-person evaluations.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Let's take a look at Blaze 16-1 today:</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='483992' first='Ashlyn' last='Bechler'], '25, OH, North Iowa - </strong>As a sophomore last Fall, Bechler delivered 219 kills, 213 digs, 16.0 blocks and 46 aces. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Rayne Becker, '25, DS, North Butler - </strong>Becker played varsity as a sophomore in '22, contributing 39 digs in 31 sets for the Bearcats. She added three assists. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Dottie Byars, '24, OH, Lake Mills - </strong>Byars produced 191 kills for the Bulldogs last Fall. She chipped in with 17.0 blocks, 60 digs and 46 aces as well. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Kaci Crum, '25, MB, Central Springs - </strong>Crum paced the Panthers with 261 kills as a 10th-grader in '22. She also registered 53.0 blocks, 65 digs and 35 aces. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Abigail Drier, '25, L/DS, Hampton-Dumont-CAL - </strong>Drier led the Bulldogs with 263 digs during his sophomore season of '22. She added 19 assists, 18 kills and seven aces. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Aubrey Hoeft, '24, OH/MB, Central Springs - </strong>A sophomore last Fall, Hoeft produced 134 kills, 39.0 blocks, 34 digs and 19 aces for the Panthers. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Natalie Holland</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Patience Katter, '25, S, Garner Hayfield Ventura - </strong>Katter posted 27 aces for the Cardinals as a sophomore in '22, the third most on the squad. She added 11 digs, a block and an assist in 41 sets. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Lylah Knowlton</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Azaria McDonough, '25, S, Central Springs - </strong>McDonough pumped out 721 assists last Fall as a sophomore for the Panthers.
