The gym was booming from all the hitters but who’s causing all the fuss? The setters at Central Zone were on another level. They’re some of the best and had a hand or two in all the noise this weekend.
Let’s take a look at the setters that brought the noise this weekend in Indianapolis.
Leah Richmond Leah Richmond 5'8" | S Lawrence North | 2024 State IN – Academy
Talk about running the offense, this player ran Academy all the way to the 17 Open crown this weekend. Leah Richmond Leah Richmond 5'8" | S Lawrence North | 2024 State IN was on fire all weekend long leading this team to flawless record. Her location and tempo was on point every play. The Western Michigan bound setter knew the hot hands at all times.
Allie Shondell Allie Shondell 5'9" | S McCutcheon | 2024 State #78 Nation IN – Boiler Juniors
Going toe-to-toe with Richmond in the finals, it was the battle of the setters. No wonder the trophy came down to a tie-breaker. The Purdue bound Allie Shondell Allie Shondell 5'9" | S McCutcheon | 2024 State #78 Nation IN was performing at a 10 all weekend long. She’s so clever with her touch and knows how to hold a block really well.
Addison Horner – 1st Alliance
Arguably one of the most effective players from this weekend, Addison Horner can play the entire game so well. While a setter in the back court and a hitter at the net, Horner is truly the best of both worlds. She runs such a well-oiled, and FAST, offense. Then up at the net, she knows how to bring the heat standing at 6’2.
Campbell Flynn – Legacy
Another huge setter in the 16s division, Campbell Flynn’s size also came in handy well throughout the weekend. A huge block at the net and mighty south paw that no one seems to be able to contain, Flynn has some fun out there! Beside her surprise attacks on two, Flynn runs a supreme offense with a lot of speed and creativity.
Ella Craggs – Michigan Elite
Michigan Elite is speeding things up this season and its looking real nice! Ella Craggs continues to impress time and time again. Her newfound tempo was very consistent throughout the weekend and giving just about everyone fits. She has a lot of tools in her box to play with this season, which makes things even more exciting.
We are starting tp pick up the pace here in the 16s age group and Ava Harris Ava Harris 5'11" | S Angola | 2025 State IN is another setting pushing it. Harris is a fast and dynamic setter. She was getting quite crafty this weekend and making some fun plays happen. Even with a powerhouse like Tindall on tap, Harris can play around with her hitters with ease.
