A little history behind the Prep Dig Sizzle. This event came about with a lot of unknown in the summer of 2020. Teams didn’t know when they would have a high school season or even if they would have a high school season. Prep Dig worked in great detail with the Community First Champion Center out of Appleton in providing a very structured plan to run a summer high school tournament with health and safety at the forefront. We had roster limitations, coach limitations, and no spectators. At the end of the day we just wanted to play volleyball.
In 2021, we saw an expanded field in the JV Division as well as varsity with multiple teams competing who would then find themselves playing in the state tournament that November. We developed the structure based on teams getting a chance to play against others who they typically wouldn’t see in the regular season. Matchups of Northwest Wisconsin vs. Southeast Wisconsin, big schools versus small schools, we want teams to see new matchups.
